Feathers (American Band)
Feathers is the music project of Anastasia Dimou, formed in 2011 in Austin, Texas. The band's live lineup has included Courtney Voss, Kathleen Carmichael, Christine Aprile, Drew Citron, Alex Gehring, Jordan Johns, Jon Minor, Destiny Montague, and Su Swann. History Dimou began recording and performing under the moniker Feathers in 2011, following a move to Austin, Texas from her home state of New York. The band has supported Depeche Mode, Washed Out, The Duke Spirit, Robyn, Little Boots, Gary Numan, Trust, Blouse, and played several festivals, including All Tomorrow's Parties, Fun Fun Fun Fest, Austin Psych Fest, Field Day, SXSW Music Festival, and The Great Escape Festival. Feathers' debut studio album, '' If All Now Here'', was released on May 28, 2013. Cold Cave is the moniker for the music of Wesley Eisold, described as a "collage of darkwave, noise, and synthpop." A number of reviewers note the affinity with early 1980s post-punk and early synthpop, in particular Joy Division and New Order. "Land of the Innocent" is the first track on the 2013 full-length If All Now Here by the American electronic/synth band Feathers. It was initially released as a stream through the act's social media outlets in 2012, and later as a digital single on March 4, 2013. The single's b-side is a remix of the song by the Liverpool-based act Outfit. The Guardian wrote that the song "neatly expresses Feathers' desire to combine a dystopian future-world aesthetic with a pop sensibility and rhythms tough enough to pass muster in the realm of the industrial." The music for the 2013 action-adventure video game ''Grand Theft Auto V'', developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games, was composed by The Alchemist, Oh No and Tangerine Dream in collaboration with Woody Jackson. In collaboration with each other, the musicians produced over twenty hours of music which scores the game's missions. Arthur Ashin (born 20 April 1982), better known by his stage name Autre Ne Veut, is an American singer-songwriter and musician from New York City. The name Autre Ne Veut is taken from an inscription in French on a 15th-century British dress ornament that is stored at The Cloisters and is translated to English as "I want no other." Biography Ashin was born on 20 April 1982 in Raleigh, North Carolina. He earned his undergraduate degree at Hampshire College, where he lived with Daniel Lopatin (later of Oneohtrix Point Never). After college, Ashin lived briefly in New York City and Chicago before establishing his home in Brooklyn.
