''Father Cigarette'' (Spanish: ''El padre Pitillo'') is a 1946 Chilean comedy film directed by Roberto de Ribón.Mouesca p.379 There is also a 1955 Spanish version, directed by Juan de Orduña. Plot The story follows Rosita, a girl who is tormented by her problems and seeks support from the priest in her village, known as Father Cigarette. She was seduced by the town's charming man and has no choice but to seek refuge with the priest, who, from his particular point of view, will try to guide her. Carlos Arniches Barreda (11 October 1866 – 16 April 1943)"Arniches (y Barrera), Carlos" in ''The New Encyclopædia Britannica''. A comedy film is a category of film which emphasizes humor. These films are designed to make the audience laugh through amusement. Films in this style traditionally have a happy ending (black comedy being an exception). Comedy is one of the oldest genres in film and it is derived from the classical comedy in theatre.
