Father's Day (1955 Film)
''Father's Day'' (German: ''Vatertag'') is a 1955 West German comedy film directed by Hans Richter and starring Grethe Weiser, Paul Westermeier and Camilla Spira. Jaedicke p.269 It was shot at the Wandsbek Studios in Hamburg and on location around the city. The film's sets were designed by the art directors Mathias Matthies and Ellen Schmidt. Synopsis The wives of several respectable town members are concerned that their husbands are spending time secretively with some attractive female dancers. What they don't realise is that they are in fact in training for a dance competition. Hans Richter (actor)
Hans Richter (12 January 1919 – 5 October 2008) was a German film actor. He appeared in more than 130 films between 1931 and 1984, mostly in supporting roles. He was born in Brandenburg, Germany and died in Heppenheim, Germany. Life and career Hans Richter made his film debut as "Fliegender Hirsch" in Gerhard Lamprecht's ''Emil and the Detectives'' (1931), based on the novel of the same name by Erich Kästner. In the following years, Richter become a popular juvenile actor; often playing clever, somewhat cheeky boys (a type similar to Mickey Rooney in the American film during the 1930s). When he reached legal age, he had appeared in over 50 films. After his supporting role as a lazy schoolboy in ''Die Feuerzangenbowle'' (1944), Richter got drafted into the German Wehrmacht and was also in war imprisonment for some time. Maria Katharina Helene Sebaldt (26 April 1930 in Berlin-Steglitz) is a German actress. Life The daughter of a department head of the Paramount film distribution company took private acting lessons from 1946 to 1949 and passed an acting examination in 1951. Blandine Ebinger (born Blandine Loeser) (4 November 1899, in Berlin – 25 December 1993, in Berlin) was a German actress and ''chansonniere''. Career Ebinger became acquainted with Friedrich Hollaender in 1919, and with him she became heavily invested as a performer, writer, and composer in the Berlin cabaret scene in the 1920s, beginning in the cabaret and the Café des Westens.
