Farscape (role-playing Game)
The ''Farscape Roleplaying Game'' is a role-playing game based on the television series, ''Farscape'', published by Alderac Entertainment Group. Besides featuring characters and planets from the show, the game added a few more not seen onscreen. There was also an original story entitled "Ten Little Aliens," written by Keith R.A. DeCandido, who wrote the ''Farscape'' novel ''House of Cards''. History The ''Farscape RPG'' (2002), a d20-based game focused on the sci-fi TV show, was the first d20-based RPG from Alderac Entertainment Group. The ''Farscape'' game never got any support, and the show was cancelled not long after. Lee Hammock
Lee Hammock is a professional writer and game designer. Hammock has worked on numerous products for numerous companies, including '' NeoExodus: A House Divided'' RPG by Louis Porter Jr. Design, ''The Halo Graphic Novel'' and the '' Dawning Star Campaign Setting'' by Blue Devil Games. Career Lee Hammock co-designed the licensed ''Farscape'' role-playing game for Alderac Entertainment Group. He also co-designed the '' Dawning Star Campaign Setting'' with Justin D. Jacobson for Blue Devil Games. Hammock has worked for DC Comics. Hammock wrote the story "The Last Voyage of the Infinite Succor" for ''The Halo Graphic Novel''. Alderac Entertainment Group, or AEG, is a publisher of role-playing game, board game, and collectible card game products. AEG was formed by Jolly Blackburn in 1993 and is based in the city of Ontario, California. Prior to getting into their current markets, AEG was involved in hobby gaming magazines, with their first product the magazine ''Shadis'' (winner of the 1994, 1995, and 1996 Origins Awards for ''Best Professional Gaming Magazine''). A role-playing game (sometimes spelled roleplaying game, RPG) is a game in which players assume the roles of player character, characters in a fictional Setting (narrative), setting. Farscape
''Farscape'' is an Australian-American science fiction television series, produced originally for the Nine Network. It premiered in the US on Sci-Fi Channel's SciFi Friday, 19 March 1999, at 8:00 pm EST as their anchor series. The series was conceived by Rockne S. O'Bannon and produced by The Jim Henson Company and Hallmark Entertainment. The Jim Henson Company was responsible for the various alien make-up and prosthetics, and two regular characters (the animatronic puppets Rygel and Pilot) are entirely Creature Shop creations. Although the series was planned for five seasons, it was abruptly cancelled after production had ended on its fourth season, ending the series on a cliffhanger. Co-producer Brian Henson later secured the rights to ''Farscape'', paving the way for a three-hour miniseries to wrap up the cliffhanger, titled '' Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars'', which Henson directed. RPGnet is a role-playing game website. It includes sections on wargaming, wargames, tabletop games and video games, as well as columns on gaming topics. RPGnet was founded in 1996 by Emma and Sandy Antunes, Shawn Althouse ( etrigan) and Brian David Phillips, as a way to unify a number of transient game sites. In 2001 it was purchased by Skotos Tech, but maintains creative and editorial autonomy. ENnie
The ENNIE Awards (previously stylized as ENnie Awards) are awards for role-playing game (RPG) products (including game-related accessories, publications, and art) and their creators. The awards were created in 2001 by Russ Morrissey of EN World in partnership with Eric Noah's Unofficial D&D Third Edition News. The ceremony has been hosted at Gen Con in Indianapolis since 2002. Since 2018, EN World is no longer associated with the awards. The ENNIES comprise two rounds. In the first round, publishers submit their products for nomination. Entries are judged by five democratically elected judges. The nominated products are voted on by the public in the second round.
