Farrer Park United
Farrer Park United is a now-defunct soccer club from Singapore. The team won Singapore's National Football League in 1982, and the President's Cup in 1981 and 1983. The club played at the Farrer Park Field as their home stadium. History In 1976, Farrer Park United lost to Geylang International, 2-0, in the finals of the Toto League Cup. In 1979, Robert Ng and Robert Lim joined the club as manager and coach. In 1982, Farrer Park United won the National Football League Division 1 and also the national U15 title. In 1983, Dutch goalkeeper, Alex Brouwer, formerly from PSV Eindhoven join the club. In 1983, the club won the President's Cup with a 3-0 win over Singapore Armed Forces Sports Association. Singapore Football League
The Singapore Football League (SFL) is a semi-professional football tournament for clubs that are affiliated to the Football Association of Singapore. It makes up the second and third tier of football in Singapore after the professional Singapore Premier League, which was established in 1996 and before the FAS Island Wide League. The teams are also eligible to compete in the Singapore FA Cup. Singapore Cup
The Singapore Cup is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic Singaporean football. Established in 1998, it is the foremost football cup competition in the country. It is open to clubs in the Singapore Premier League. Since 2005, foreign teams from other countries in Southeast Asia are occasionally invited to compete in the Singapore Cup. Chonburi Province FC from Thailand was the first foreign club reaching the final in 2006 (they lost 3–2 in the final to local club Tampines Rovers). In 2009, Bangkok Glass became the second foreign team to reach the final, losing against local club Geylang United, but they beat Tampines Rovers in 2010 to become the first foreign winners of the Singapore Cup. Winners of the Singapore Cup gain qualification into the Asian continental club competition AFC Cup. Hougang United are the current holders, having beaten Tampines Rovers 3–2 at the 2022 final. Geylang International Football Club is a professional football club based in Bedok, Singapore, which plays in the Singapore Premier League, the top division of football in Singapore. The club was founded in 1973 with the purpose of building a successful football team that would be remembered for generations to come. They played their first season in 1974, winning the FAS Division Three League which earns a spot in National Football League Division One the following year. Warriors Football Club is a Singaporean professional football club that played in the Singapore Premier League, the top division of football in Singapore. Before changing their name on 20 January 2013, they were previously known as the Singapore Armed Forces Football Club (SAFFC) since their establishment on 16 February 1996. Despite their name back then, not all players from the team came from the Armed Forces. Some were internationals and others were foreign. The club's original choice of mascot was a wolf, but club officials chose a rhinoceros, which represents discipline, spirit, courage and teamwork.
