Farm to Market Road 2004 (FM 2004) is a farm to market road in Brazoria and Galveston counties, Texas. Route description FM 2004 begins near the village of Jones Creek and the TDCJ Clemens Unit prison, at an intersection with SH 36; the roadway past SH 36 is FM 2611. The route travels to the northeast, crossing the Brazos River and entering Lake Jackson, where it intersects SH 332 and then the SH 288 expressway north of Brazos Mall. FM 2004 travels through Richwood before entering unincorporated areas of Brazoria County, south of Danbury and Liverpool, and north of the Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge. The highway crosses a steep bridge over Chocolate Bayou and passes chemical plants before entering Galveston County. The route turns more to the north, crossing SH 6 in Hitchcock. Farm to Market Road 1765 (FM 1765) is a farm to market road in the U.S. state of Texas. It begins at FM 2004 in La Marque and heads east to Spur 197 in Texas City. The portion of the route from SH 3 (formerly U.S. Highway 75) to Spur 197 was designated as SH 348 from June 10, 1943 until the two routes were combined on November 29, 1990. Route description FM 1765 begins at an intersection with FM 2004 in La Marque, Galveston County east of the University of Houston Research Center, heading east on two-lane undivided Texas Avenue. State Highway 3 (SH 3) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Texas that runs from Interstate 45 in Houston near William P. Hobby Airport to State Highway 146, northwest of Galveston. Interstate 45 (I-45) is a major Interstate Highway located entirely within the US state of Texas. While most Interstate routes which have numbers ending in "5" are cross-country north–south routes, I-45 is comparatively short, with the entire route located in Texas. Additionally, it has the shortest length of all the interstates that end in a "5." It connects the cities of Dallas and Houston, continuing southeast from Houston to Galveston over the Galveston Causeway to the Gulf of Mexico. Chocolate Bayou
Chocolate Bayou is an unincorporated community in eastern Brazoria County, Texas, United States. According to the Handbook of Texas, the community had a population of 60 in 2000. It is located within the Greater Houston metropolitan area. History Chocolate Bayou is located near the bayou of the same name. This area was originally part of a land grant to Stephen F. Austin and James Franklin Perry. Perry's sister, Emily Austin Perry, operated the Peach Point Plantation. It produced cotton and sugar. By 1911, Chocolate Bayou gained its first post office, and three years later, the St. Louis, Brownsville and Mexico Railway established service through the area. During that time, it had 25 residents, a general store, and two hay shippers. The discovery of oil occurred in 1946. The post office closed in 1950 and the population dropped to 50.
