Farewell To Freeway
Farewell to Freeway was a Canadian metalcore band from Guelph, Ontario. History Early Days (2000–2003) Initially formed as a punk trio going by the name Freeway in 2000, the band consisted of Chris Lambert on guitar and vocals with bassist Josh Hudman and drummer Richie Gregor. The band released a 5-song EP, ''You or Someone Like You'' in 2000, with limited pressing. The band released its second EP, ''Shadybrook Sessions'' in 2001, with a notably more alternative feel than the first album while still keeping a punk vibe. The album was produced by Scott Komer (Boysnightout, Pettit Project) at his Parkhill Project Studio in Oakville, Ontario. In 2002, shortly after the release of ''Shadybrook Sessions'', Hudman left the band and was replaced by Adam Lambert, brother of Chris. The trio was forced to change their name due to conflict with a rap artist with the same moniker, and Farewell to Freeway was officially born. Guelph
Guelph ( ; 2021 Canadian Census population 143,740) is a city in Southwestern Ontario, Canada. Known as "The Royal City", Guelph is roughly east of Kitchener and west of Downtown Toronto, at the intersection of Highway 6, Highway 7 and Wellington County Road 124. It is the seat of Wellington County, but is politically independent of it. ''Alternative Press'' is an American entertainment magazine primarily focused on music and culture, now based in Los Angeles, CA. It generally provides readers with band interviews, photos, and relevant news. It was founded in 1985 by Mike Shea in Cleveland, OH. The company is now looked after by MDDN. Beginnings The first issue of ''Alternative Press'' was distributed at concerts in Cleveland, Ohio beginning in June 1985 by ''APs founder, Mike Shea to advocate bands playing underground music. The name for the magazine, ''Alternative Press'', was not a reference to the alternative rock genre, but referred to the fanzine being an alternative to the local press. Guitar
The guitar is a fretted musical instrument that typically has six strings. It is usually held flat against the player's body and played by strumming or plucking the strings with the dominant hand, while simultaneously pressing selected strings against frets with the fingers of the opposite hand. Electric Guitar
An electric guitar is a guitar that requires external amplification in order to be heard at typical performance volumes, unlike a standard acoustic guitar (however combinations of the two - a semi-acoustic guitar and an electric acoustic guitar exist). The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. The Bled was an American post-hardcore band from Tucson, Arizona, formed in 2001.
