''Fantasy'' is an action game developed by SNK and released for arcades in October 1981. It was licensed to Rock-Ola for North American release in February 1982. The game is controlled with a single joystick. One level plays the melody from the song "Funkytown". According to the book ''Gamers: Writers, Artists & Programmers on the Pleasures of Pixels'', this is the first arcade video game to have a continue feature.Compton, Shanna. The Rock-Ola Manufacturing Corporation is an American developer and manufacturer of juke boxes and related machinery. It was founded in 1927 by Coin-Op pioneer David Cullen Rockola to manufacture slot machines, scales, and pinball machines. Vanguard (video Game)
is a scrolling shooter arcade video game developed by TOSE. It was released by SNK in Japan and Europe in 1981, and licensed to Centuri for manufacture in North America in October and to Zaccaria in Italy the same year. Cinematronics converted the game to cocktail arcade cabinets in North America. The player flies a ship through forced-scrolling tunnels with sections that move horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, to reach a boss at the end. The ship is controlled with an 8-way joystick, and it can fire in four directions via four buttons in a diamond arrangement. Atari, Inc. released a port for their Atari 2600 console in 1982 and the Atari 5200 in 1983. Zarzon
''Zarzon'' (, ), also known as ''Satan of Saturn'' (), is a 1981 fixed shooter arcade game developed and manufactured by SNK and licensed to Taito for North American release. The gameplay is a variation of ''Space Invaders''. Gameplay The goal is to fly a spaceship to Saturn, then destroy as many Satans as possible. Additional bonus points can be accumulated by destroying the comet or attacking dragonflies. An additional spaceship is rewarded if the players score reaches 5,000 or 10,000 points. If the attacking UFOs or enemy rockets are destroyed points will be scored. The game progresses through 4 different screens. The arcade cabinet has one joystick to move the spaceship left to right and guide the missiles. Technical details The game ran on the SNK 6502 arcade system board. MAME (formerly an acronym of Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator) is a free and open-source emulator designed to recreate the hardware of arcade game systems in software on modern personal computers and other platforms.
