Family Portrait (Hals, Four Persons)
''Portrait of a Dutch Family'' is an oil-on-canvas painting by the Dutch Golden Age painter Frans Hals, painted ''c.'' 1635 and now in the Cincinnati Art Museum, Cincinnati. Painting The painting is one of a handful of paintings that Hals made of families in the "picnic style" of open air settings, but this one seems to be executed entirely in the studio, complete with a Hals signature curtain. The family has been identified by the Dutch art historian Frans Grijzenhout in 2022. The backdrop seems artificially staged and is probably by another hand. The name of Pieter de Molijn has been suggested by diverse art historians. Name In his 1910 catalog of Frans Hals works Hofstede de Groot Cornelis Hofstede de Groot (9 November 1863 – 14 April 1930), was a Dutch art collector, art historian and museum curator. We laugh about it now, but it wasn't the best way to address family problems." Critical reception The single received praise from critics. Paul Matthew from UKMIX gave the song 4 out of 5 stars, saying that it is strong, catchy and different from anything she had released to date. Dr. Bruce L. Thiessen praised ...

Music For Egon Schiele

The album was composed as the score to a theatrical production, ''Egon Schiele'', about the life of the painter Egon Schiele. It was staged by the Itinerant Theater Guild, in 1995. Critical reception ''The Village Voice'' called the album "a haunting array of compositions that attempt to narrate the elements of Schiele's life through cello, piano, viola, and bass." ''Rolling Stone'' noted that "the music is as stark and loving as Schiele's art, the sound of a noble, lonely agony rendered in elegant monochrome." Family Portrait (Hals, Five Persons)
''Family Group in a Landscape'' is an oil-on-canvas painting by the Dutch Golden Age painter Frans Hals, painted ''c.'' 1645-1648, and now in the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, in Madrid. Painting The painting is one of a handful of paintings that Hals made of families in the "picnic style" of open air settings, but this is the only one featuring a black boy–something of a rarity in Haarlem during Hals' lifetime. It is also one of the largest paintings by Frans Hals, and the largest painted by him that is not devoted to the civic guards of Haarlem that Hals painted many different times throughout his career. Name In his 1910 catalog of Frans Hals works Hofstede de Groot wrote:441.
