''Falling Up'' is the ninth and final studio album from Falling Up. They released the album on November 13, 2015. Critical reception Awarding the album a perfect five-star rating at Jesus Freak Hideout (JFH), David Craft stated, "Truthfully, this album is unmarketable, at least from a traditional standpoint. ... Only a band such as Falling Up could get away with this kind of game-winning Hail Mary." Christopher Smith, also of JFH, gave the album four and a half stars, writing, "On Falling Up's self-titled final album, lead singer Jessy Ribordy's delicate, emotional vocals are paired with stunningly beautiful and dynamic experimental rock landscapes to create an otherworldly musical experience." Falling Up (band)
Falling Up was an American Christian rock band from Albany, Oregon. Falling Up formed in October 2001, and released their debut album ''Crashings'' in 2004. They were signed to BEC Recordings in 2003 after a recommendation from friends in the band Kutless. The band's name came from the first song they wrote, which talked about their belief in both human imperfection and in the grace of God which compensates for that imperfection; their lyrics were heavily grace-themed. Over time, the lyrics became more abstract and poetic as the band's style shifted from alternative rock to a more experimental direction, and they started creating more diverse music. The band went through several line-up changes, with only lead vocalist Jessy Ribordy, bassist Jeremy Miller, and drummer Josh Shroy appearing on every album. ''Silver City'' is a 2013 Christmas album recorded by experimental Christian rock band Falling Up. It was released digitally on December 6, 2013, and contained 11 tracks. It was the only Christmas-related album that Falling Up released. Although the band labeled it as an "extended play", at 11 tracks, it exceeds both ''Billboards and the RIAA's definition for an EP, which is capped at six and five maximum tracks, respectively. The iTunes Store and Amazon.com versions did not include the opening track, "Intro/Jingle Bells". Due to the album's release being too close to Christmas to press physical copies and mail them in time, Falling Up only released the album digitally, stating that they would most likely remaster the album, add a few songs and release physical copies for Christmas 2014.
