Falgun or Phalgun (; ne, फाल्गुण) or Phagun ( as, ফাগুন) is the eleventh month of the year in the Bengali calendar, the Assamese calendar, and the Nepali calendar. In the revision of the Bengali calendar used in Bangladesh since October 2019, the month has 29 days in common years or 30 in leap years of the Gregorian calendar. In the previous version of the calendar, used in Bangladesh from 1987 through October 2019, Falgun had 30 days in common years or 31 days in leap years. The month has 29 or 30 days, based on the true movements of the Sun, in the old non-reformed Bengali calendar, still used in West Bengal, and in the Nepali calendar. Falgun was named for the ''nakshatra'' (lunar mansion) ''Uttara phalguni'', in the vicinity of which the full moon appears at that time of the year. Falguni Hamid ( bn, ফাল্গুনী হামিদ) is a Bangladeshi actress, playwright, director and producer. She served as the Director of Bangladesh Shishu Academy. She is the incumbent president of Bangladesh Cine-Journalist Association. Career Hamid completed master's in Bangla from the University of Dhaka. Hamid started her career as a journalist in "Banglar Bani". She was involved with journalism for 15 years. She passed the Bangladesh Television (BTV) audition in 1978 and joined the theatre troupe "Natyachakra". She performed in television drama serials in the 1980s. Hamid is the owner of "Tele Real LTD", the first production house in Bangladesh. She ran the magazine "Shimontini", on women and children's issues. Falguni Pathak (born 12 March 1969) is an Indian singer, performing artist and composer based in Mumbai. Her music is based on traditional musical forms from the Indian state of Gujarat. Since her professional debut in 1987, she has developed into an artist with a large fan base across India. Once asked how she decided to take up singing as a career, she replied that it happened by default. Her debut album was released in 1998, and she has also recorded numerous songs for Bollywood movies. The theme of most of her songs is love. Falguni Roy (; 1945–1981) was an anti-establishment Bengali poet born in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. Along with Shakti Chattopadhyay, Malay Roy Choudhury, Samir Roychoudhury, Subimal Basak, Debi Roy (Haradhon Dhara), Utpal Kumar Basu, Binoy Majumdar, Sandipan Chattopadhyay, Basudeb Dasgupta, Roy was also associated with the Hungryalist movement. Anti-establishment poet Tushar Roy was his brother. Film An experimental short film about Roy, ''Ebang Falguni (The Lost Lines Of A Beauty Monster)'', was shown at foreign film festivals. Entirely shot on DVcam, score is composed by Monomix, and runs just over 21 minutes.
