Aimee Semple McPherson (née Kennedy; October 9, 1890 - September 27, 1944), also known as Sister Aimee or Sister, was a Canadian Pentecostalism, Pentecostal Evangelism, evangelist and media celebrity. Overview Early in the itinerant phase of her career, Aimee Semple McPherson discovered that if she prayed over sick people, many of them stated they got well. Consequently, she began holding what she termed as "divine healing" revival sessions. These outdoor, open-air demonstrations drew many thousands of people. As a result, she not only became known by the news media and the public as a dynamic revivalist, but also a sought after faith healer. Those who have been converted and healed saw nothing dubious in their curative experience.
