Faith No More Discography
The discography of Faith No More, an American rock group, consists of seven studio albums, nineteen singles, one live album, five compilations, four video albums. Faith No More's first album was ''We Care a Lot'', released by Mordam Records in 1985. The band soon signed with Slash Records and released ''Introduce Yourself'', their second album, in April 1987. Shortly afterwards the rest of the band fired the vocalist, Chuck Mosley, and replaced him with Mike Patton. During the tour supporting their third album, ''The Real Thing'', Faith No More recorded their only live album, '' Live at the Brixton Academy'', and released their first hit single, " Epic". Their fourth studio album '' Angel Dust'' was released in 1992 with their final two number-one singles, "Midlife Crisis", and the Lionel Richie cover " Easy", not included on the initial release of the album. Faith No More
Faith No More is an American rock band from San Francisco, California, formed in 1979. Before settling on the current name in July 1983, the band performed under the names Sharp Young Men and later Faith No Man. Bassist Billy Gould, keyboardist/rhythm guitarist Roddy Bottum and drummer Mike Bordin are the longest-remaining members of the band, having been involved since its inception. The band underwent several early lineup changes, and some major changes later. The current lineup of Faith No More consists of Gould, Bordin, Bottum, lead guitarist Jon Hudson, and vocalist/lyricist Mike Patton. After releasing six studio albums, including best-selling records ''The Real Thing'' (1989) and '' Angel Dust'' (1992), Faith No More officially announced its breakup on April 20, 1998. ''Angel Dust'' is the fourth studio album by American rock band Faith No More, released on June 8, 1992, by Slash and Reprise Records. It is the follow-up to 1989's highly successful ''The Real Thing'', and was the band's final album to feature guitarist Jim Martin. It was also the first album where vocalist Mike Patton had any substantial influence on the band's music, having been hired after the other band members had written and recorded everything for ''The Real Thing'' except vocals and most of the lyrics. The band stated that they wanted to move away from the funk metal style of their prior releases, towards a more "theatrical" sound. ''Who Cares a Lot? The Greatest Videos'' is a greatest hits retrospective compilation video album by American rock band Faith No More. It was released on video home system following the band's April 1998 breakup and is a companion to the greatest hits album ''Who Cares a Lot? The Greatest Hits.'' The VHS was originally scheduled for release on February 9, 1999, but was delayed to February 23, 1999. It was issued by Slash Records and London Records via Polygram Video in Britain and Europe, and Slash Records and Reprise Records via Warner Reprise Video in North America. "I Started a Joke" is a song by the Bee Gees from their 1968 album ''Idea'', which was released as a single in December of that year. It was not released as a single in the United Kingdom, where buyers who could not afford the album had to content themselves with a Polydor version by Heath Hampstead. This is the last Bee Gees single to feature Vince Melouney's guitar work, as he left the band in early December after this song was released as a single. The song's B-side was "Kilburn Towers", except in France, where "Swan Song" was used. "I Started a Joke" was written by Robin mainly, with help from Barry and Maurice Gibb on the bridge. The album is a greatest hits retrospective that spans most of the band's career, including songs from all of the band's studio albums released under Slash Records. The first disc collects 15 singles from the band's Slash Records career in chronological order. It features the most recognized hits and promos. The second disc has a handful of unreleased songs, B-sides, demos, and live recordings, which were chosen by Slash rather than the band themselves. James Blanco Martin (born July 21, 1961, in Hayward, California), known professionally as "Big" Jim Martin, is an American guitarist best known for his membership in the rock band Faith No More from 1983 to late 1993. He also played guitar with the groups EZ-Street, Vicious Hatred, Agents of Misfortune, Recluse, and Pigs of Death. Martin was known for his long hair, bushy beard, and trademark red-rimmed glasses that he wears alone or over another darker pair of glasses. Early career In the early '80s, Martin was playing guitar in thrash band Vicious Hatred. During the '80s, he was an on-off member of the jamming band Spastik Children, also featuring schoolmate and close friend Cliff Burton and other members of Metallica.
