Fairmount Park is the largest municipal park in Philadelphia and the historic name for a group of parks located throughout the city. Fairmount Park consists of two park sections named East Park and West Park, divided by the Schuylkill River, with the two sections together totalling . Management of Fairmount Park and the entire citywide park system is overseen by Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, a city department created in 2010 from the merger of the Fairmount Park Commission and the Department of Recreation. Many of the city’s other parks had historically also been included in the Fairmount Park system prior to 2010, including Wissahickon Valley Park in Northwest Philadelphia, Pennypack Park in Northeast Philadelphia, Cobbs Creek Park in West Philadelphia, Franklin Delano Roosevelt Park in South Philadelphia, and 58 additional parks, parkways, plazas, squares, and public golf courses spread throughout the city. Fairmount Park (Riverside, California)
Fairmount Park is a park in Riverside, California, designated by the Riverside Cultural Heritage Board as Landmark No. 69. The park's band shell, designed in 1920 by Mission-style architect Arthur Burnett Benton, is separately designated as Landmark No. 10. The park is located at 2601 Fairmount Boulevard, and lies SouthEast of the Santa Ana River with Route 60 to the North. The California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment has issued a safe eatinadvisoryfor any fish caught in Lake Evans, in the Western portion of the park, due to elevated levels of mercury and PCBs. Fairmount Park is a neighborhood of San Diego, California. Its borders are defined by Interstate 15 to the west, Interstate 805 to the east and California Highway 94 to the south. Its neighboring communities are South Park and Golden Hill to the west, Azalea Park and City Heights to the east, and Webster to the south. It is primarily residential, mostly single-family homes, with a small commercial area along Home Avenue including several restaurants and convenience stores. Fairmount Park Racetrack
Fairmount Park Racetrack is a horse racing track in Collinsville, Illinois, a part of the St. Louis, Missouri, St. Louis metropolitan area. The track hosts Thoroughbred flat racing. It is one of two horse racing venues currently active in Illinois, and the only one outside the Chicago, Illinois metro area. The track also featured Standardbred harness racing, but discontinued it in 1999. The track opened in 1925. The racing surface is a one-mile (1.6 km) dirt oval, with straight chutes for six furlong and 1¼ mile races. Covanta Energy Corporation, Ogden Corporation bought the track in 1969. In 2000, Ogden sold the track to Bill Stiritz, then the chairman of Ralston Purina. Fairmount Park offers simulcast wagering from tracks throughout the country.
