Fair Warning (1931 Film)
''Fair Warning'' is a 1931 American Pre-Code Hollywood, pre-Code Western (genre), Western film directed by Alfred L. Werker and starring George O'Brien (actor), George O'Brien, Louise Huntington and Mitchell Harris. It is a remake of the 1920 silent film ''The Untamed (1920 film), The Untamed''. The 1937 film ''Fair Warning (1937 film), Fair Warning'' is not a remake of this one. The film's premise came from a novel by Max Brand, which initially was published in serial form in ''Argosy (magazine)#The All-Story, The All-Story'' from December 7, 1918, through January 11, 1919. Synopsis When Whistlin' Dan Barry is warned to leave a town, he refuses to do so. As a result, he defeats Jim Silent (the town's villain) and gets romantic with Kate Cumberland. Nathaniel Greene Pendleton (August 9, 1895 – October 12, 1967) was an American Olympic wrestler, film actor, and stage performer. His younger brother, Edmund J. ''Harrison's Reports'' was a New York City-based motion picture trade journal published weekly from 1919 to 1962. The typical issue was four letter-size pages sent to subscribers under a second-class mail permit. Its founder, editor and publisher was P. S. Harrison (1880–1966), who previously had been a reviewer for ''Motion Picture News'', in which his column was titled "Harrison’s Exhibitor Reviews". The first issue, dated 5 July 1919, stated that film advertising would not be accepted. A year's subscription cost $10. For more than a year, the type was set by a typewriter.
