Marie-Clémence Andriamonta Paes (born 1959), is a Malagasy French filmmaker. She has produced several critically acclaimed feature documentaries including: ''Angano... Angano...'', ''Mahaleo'' and ''L'opéra du bout du monde''. Apart from direction, she is also a producer and writer. Personal life She was born in 1959 to a French father and Malagasy mother. She completed a master's degree in sociology and a Marketing CELSA-Sorbonne Diploma. She is married to César Paes, who is also a Franco-Brazilian director. Career In 1988, she launched an independent production company based in Paris called 'Laterit Productions' together with her husband César. Régis Gizavo
Régis Gizavo (June 16, 1959 – July 16, 2017) was a Malagasy accordionist. He was born in Tulear, Madagascar and began playing the accordion at a young age. In 1990 he won the Radio France Internationale " Prix découvertes". In addition to two solo albums, Régis Gizavo has been a member of the Corsican group I Muvrini, and contributed to a range of recordings, including albums by the Cape Verdean singers Cesária Évora and Lura. Gizavo partnered with Louis Mhlanga and David Mirandon to record ''Stories'', 2006 winner of KAOS (FM)'s ''Spin The Globe'' award. He later partnered with four other musicians from Madagascar (Justin Vali, Fenoamby, Erick Manana, and Dama, leader of Mahaleo) to record an album together as the Madagascar All Stars. Malagasy (; ) is an Austronesian language and the national language of Madagascar. Malagasy is the westernmost Malayo-Polynesian language, brought to Madagascar by the settlement of Austronesian peoples from the Sunda islands around the 5th century AD. The Malagasy Uprising (french: Insurrection malgache; mg, Tolom-bahoaka tamin' ny 1947) was a Malagasy nationalist rebellion against French colonial rule in Madagascar, lasting from March 1947 to February 1949.
