The Faculty of Medicine, Naresuan University () is a medical school located in Phitsanulok, Thailand. The first 10 years of establishment was designed based on the cost-effective principle: the Faculty of Medicine responds for academy in pre-clinical years and the Ministry of Public Health hospitals conduct the academic instruction during the clinical years. Thereafter, the Faculty of Medicine will build and develop its own teaching hospital. The faculty's primary teaching hospital is Naresuan University Hospital with six medical education centers cooperation. History In 1992, the Cabinet decided that Thailand health system needed more medical doctors especially in upcountry. Buddhachinaraj Phitsanulok Hospital () is the main hospital of Phitsanulok Province, Thailand, and is classified under the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) as a regional hospital. It has a CPIRD Medical Education Center which trains doctors of the Faculty of Medicine, Naresuan University. It is an affiliated teaching hospital of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University. History Prior to 1940, Phitsanulok only had a health station named 'Benjamarachanusorn Health Station'. In 1939, the Governor of Phitsanulok, along with local doctors and nobility requested funding from the Public Health Division (now the MOPH, then operated by the Ministry of Interior) for the construction of a hospital in Phitsanulok. Tha Pho ( th, ท่าทอง) is a subdistrict in the Mueang Phitsanulok District of Phitsanulok Province, Thailand. In this subdistrict is Naresuan University with more than 22,000 students. Geography The topography of Tha Thong subdistrict is fertile lowlands, with swamps and marshes. The subdistrict is bordered to the north by Tha Thong subdistrict, to the east by Bueng Phra subdistrict, to the southeast by Wat Phrik subdistrict and to the west by Bang Rakam district. Somdejphrajaotaksin Maharaj Hospital (, ''lit. King Taksin the Great Hospital'') is the main hospital of Tak Province, Thailand. It is classified under the Ministry of Public Health as a general hospital. It has a CPIRD Medical Education Center which trains doctors for the Faculty of Medicine of Naresuan University. History The construction of Tak Hospital was started in November 1939 by Mang Saichum-in, governor of Tak, but it was delayed due to the start of World War II. Phrae (; ) is a town (''thesaban mueang'') in northern Thailand, capital of Phrae Province. The town occupies '' tambon'' Nai Wiang of Mueang Phrae District.
