''Facing the Music'' is a 1933 British musical comedy film directed by Harry Hughes and starring Stanley Lupino, Jose Collins and Nancy Burne. It is also known by the alternative title ''Jewel Song''. Production The film was made at Elstree Studios by British International Pictures. It was one of a series of films made by the company featuring the popular stage entertainer Stanley Lupino. The film's art direction was by David Rawnsley. Plot In order to promote his client a publicist organises a fake robbery of her jewels, but things soon begin to unravel. ''Facing the Music'' (2001) is an Australian documentary film directed by Bob Connolly and Robin Anderson about the wish of some staff members to keep the University of Sydney Department of Music alive in the face of budget overspending. The film features a music professor (Anne Boyd) struggling to run a dysfunctional department amidst budget pressures. She has no training or capacity for the fundraising that is required. The film won the Cinematic Intelligence Agency Trenchcoat Awards 2002 for best documentary or true drama, Film Critics Circle of Australia 2002 for Best Australian documentary, and the if Awards 2001 for Best Documentary. Henri Temianka (19 November 19067 November 1992) was a virtuoso violinist, conductor, author and music educator. Early years Henri Temianka was born in Greenock, Scotland, to parents who were Polish emigrants. He studied violin with Carel Blitz in Rotterdam from 1915 to 1923, with Willy Hess at the National Conservatory in Berlin from 1923 to 1924, and with Jules Boucherit in Paris from 1924 to 1926. He then enrolled at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, where he studied violin with Carl Flesch, who reported of him in 1927, "Was brought over by me. First class technical talent, somewhat sleepy personality, has still to awake." In 1928, Flesch said, "His violinistic personality is for the moment still above his human one. William Larry Brown (July 9, 1951 – November 24, 2004) was an American novelist, non-fiction and short story writer. He won numerous awards, including the Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters award for fiction, the Lila Wallace-Reader's Digest Award, and Mississippi, Mississippi's Governor's Award For Excellence in the Arts. He was also the first two-time winner of the Southern Book Award for Fiction. His notable works include ''Dirty Work (Larry Brown novel), Dirty Work'', ''Father and Son'', ''Joe'', and ''Big Bad Love''.
