FK Ørn Horten
Fotballklubben Ørn Horten, formerly Ørn fotballklubb, abbreviated Ørn FK, popularly known as ''De brune'' or ''Ørnane'', was founded on 4 May 1904, and is Horten's largest football club. The club won the Norwegian Cup four times in the 1920s and '30s and played in the top division during the 1950s and '60s. Since 2022, Ørn plays in the Norwegian Second Division, the third tier of the Norwegian football league system. Ørn Horten's current head coach is Kjell Andre Thu, a former player at the club. Ørn has developed several talents, recent examples include Adnan Hadzic to Start, Benjamin Zalo to Swedish football and Julian Kristoffersen to Danish football. Previously, the club also had an active bandy department. Horten
is a town and municipality in Vestfold in Vestfold og Telemark county, Norway—located along the Oslofjord. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Horten. The municipality also includes the town of Åsgårdstrand and the villages of Borre, Skoppum, and Nykirke. The town of Horten was separated from the municipality of Borre to become a municipality of its own in 1858. The neighboring municipalities of Borre and Horten were merged back together on 1 January 1988. The name of the new united municipality was first ''Borre'', but after a referendum it was changed to ''Horten'' on 1 June 2002. The local newspaper in Horten is named Gjengangeren, and covers mostly local news. It is also available online (see external links section). The 1932 Norwegian Football Cup was the 31st season of the Norway, Norwegian annual knockout association football, football tournament. The tournament was open for all members of Football Association of Norway, NFF, except those from Northern Norway. The final was played at Marienlyst Stadion in Drammen on 16 October 1932, and was contested by four-time former winners FK Ørn-Horten, Ørn, and Fredrikstad FK, Fredrikstad who played their first final. Harald Strøm
Harald Strøm (14 October 1897 – 25 December 1977) was a Norwegian speed skater, world champion, European champion and world record holder on 5000 metres. He was also a football player, national champion with his club, and playing for the national football team. Speed skating He set his first speed skating world record on 5000m in 1921 (8:27.7), being the first to break the magic 8:30. He improved his own record in 1922 (8:26.5). Arnar Jahrmann Førsund (born 29 July 1986) is a Norwegian footballer who plays for Ørn Horten. He played on top level for the Norwegian clubs Vålerenga, Sandefjord, Kongsvinger, HamKam and Manglerud Star. Harry Boye Karlsen
Harry Boye Karlsen (14 March 1920 – 8 January 1994) was a Norwegian international footballer. He was born in Horten, and played 58 games for Norway, scoring four goals, between 1946 and 1956. He was a member of the Norwegian squad that competed at the 1952 Olympics. Karlsen played as a defender or as a wing-half (defensive midfield), and was used as a free kick and penalty taker. During World War II Karlsen played for several British teams. He joined Dundee United in September 1943, playing regularly for them until being posted to England in January 1945.
