FIVB Volleyball Women's U23 World Championship
The FIVB Volleyball Women's U23 World Championship was the world championship of volleyball for female players under the age of 23 organized by Fédération Internationale de Volleyball ( FIVB). The first edition was staged in 2013 in Mexicali and Tijuana, Mexico and tournaments were played every two years until 2017. The last tournament was hosted by Turkey in Ankara and won by Brazil. FIVB did not announce the 2019 edition of the U23 tournament, later declaring that "As per decision of May 2019 FIVB Board of Administration, the U23 WCH has been abolished." A corresponding tournament for male players was the FIVB Volleyball Men's U23 World Championship. 2013 FIVB Volleyball Women's U23 World Championship
The 2013 FIVB Volleyball Women's U23 World Championship was held in Tijuana and Mexicali, Mexico, for seven days from 5 to 12 October 2013. This was the first edition of the tournament. China won the tournament and Yao Di was selected Most Valuable Player. Competition Formula The competition format saw the 12 teams split into two pools of six teams playing in round robin format. The semifinals featured the top two teams from each pool. The FIVB Volleyball Women’s U23 World Championship featured two countries per confederation plus the host Mexico and the highest country in the world rankings not already selected by their confederation, in this case USA. Qualified teams Each Confederation was allowed to enter two teams into the competition. The FIVB Volleyball Girls' U19 World Championship is the world championship of volleyball for female players under the age of 19 organized by ''Fédération Internationale de Volleyball'' ( FIVB). The first edition was staged in 1989 in Curitiba, Brazil and tournaments have been played every two years since then. The most recent tournament was hosted by Mexico in Durango City and won by Russia. In March 2022, FIVB decides to change the age category of the tournament by moving it from U18 to U19 in order to equate it with the Boys' U19 World Championship. China is the most successful nation in the tournament's history, with four titles and one runner-up. Brazil is the second most successful with three titles and four runners-up. The FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship is an international volleyball competition contested by the senior women's national teams of the members of ' (FIVB), the sport's global governing body. Hande Baladın (born 1 September 1997) is a Turkish professional volleyball player. She started playing volleyball as middle blocker in the youth and junior teams of Eczacıbaşı Dynavit in Istanbul. Since 2014, she plays as opposite spiker. Baladın is a member of the women's national volleyball team, and wears number 7.
