Midtstubakken
Midtstubakken is a ski jumping hill which is part of the Holmenkollen National Arena in Oslo, Norway. It has a hill size of 106 metres, and a K-spot of 95 metres. The current hill dates from 2010, although the first hill at the area was built in 1927. The venue has a capacity for 15,000 spectators and was designed by Grindaker Landskapsarkitekter and Økaw Arkitekter. It is served by Midtstuen Station of the Oslo Metro. History The first hill at Midtstubakken was built in 1927, and was renovated several times. The normal hill jumping and Nordic combined for the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 1966 and FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 1982 were held in Midtstubakken, as will they be for the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2011. Anette Sagen (born 10 January 1985) is a Norwegian former ski jumper. Career She is one of the best female jumpers of all time. She received a lot of media attention in 2004, when she was denied the opportunity to jump K-185 in Vikersund, in spite of her good results. The struggle was over whether the quality of female ski jumpers was high enough to allow women to jump in these venues. Torbjørn Yggeseth, the chairman of the ski jump committee of the International Ski Federation, was Sagen's main opponent. Sarah Catherine Hendrickson (born August 1, 1994) is an American retired ski jumper. She won the inaugural women's World Cup season in 2012, finished runner-up in 2013, and won an individual gold medal at the 2013 World Championships. Career Hendrickson was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. She attended Park City High School until 2011, when she began competing in the Ski Jumping World Cup. During this she moved to The Winter Sports School in Park City, where she graduated in November 2012.
