Cortina D'Ampezzo
Cortina d'Ampezzo (; lld, Anpezo, ; historical de-AT, Hayden) is a town and ''comune'' in the heart of the southern (Dolomitic) Alps in the Province of Belluno, in the Veneto region of Northern Italy. Situated on the Boite river, in an alpine valley, it is a summer and winter sport resort known for its skiing trails, scenery, accommodation, shops and après-ski scene, and for its jet set and Italian aristocratic crowd. In the Middle Ages, Ampezzo fell under the jurisdiction of the Patriarchate of Aquileia and of the Holy Roman Empire. In 1420 it was conquered by the Republic of Venice. From 1508, it then spent much of its history under Habsburg rule, briefly undergoing some territorial changes under Napoleon, before being returned to the Austrian Empire (later Austria-Hungary), which held it until 1918. Ali Nullmeyer (born 21 August 1998) is a Canadian World Cup alpine ski racer and specializes in slalom. At the age of 18 months, Nullmeyer started skiing with her family, racing competitively at age 9. Since then, she has skied with the Georgian Peaks Club in Collingwood, Ontario, attended grades 9–12 at Green Mountain Valley School in Vermont, and joined the Canadian Alpine Ski Team in 2015. In 2016, Nullmeyer represented Canada in the Lillehammer Winter Youth Olympic Games, where she won silver in slalom. Nullmeyer made her World Championship debut in 2017 at St. Moritz. Leona Popović (; born 13 November 1997) is a Croatian alpine ski racer. Previously, she competed in all disciplines, but now specialises in slalom. Her best World Cup finish is sixth in slalom, achieved twice. Popović's first major competition was the 2015 World Championships in Beaver Creek, USA, where she competed in all disciplines at age seventeen; her best result was 27th in slalom. Irene Curtoni
Irene Curtoni (born 11 August 1985) is an Italian former World Cup alpine ski racer. She was specialised in the technical events of giant slalom and slalom. Born in Échirolles, Isère, France, where her father was a ski instructor, Curtoni was raised in the province of Sondrio in Lombardy, Italy. Whilst growing up, she also competed in basketball, gymnastics and swimming before settling on skiing. She made her World Cup debut in December 2007, and her best result is a third place in giant slalom in March 2012 in Ofterschwang, Germany. Through December 2020, Curtoni has two World Cup podiums and 32 top ten finishes; she has represented Italy in five World Championships and the 2018 Winter Olympics, where she was tenth in the slalom and part of the Italian squad which finished fifth in the team event.
