Birds Of Prey (ski Course)
Birds of Prey is a World Cup downhill ski course in the western United States, located at Beaver Creek Resort in Avon, Colorado. The race course made its World Cup debut in December 1997. Beaver Creek is a traditional early December stop on the men's World Cup calendar. The course hosted the World Championships in 1999 and 2015, and is also used for super-G and giant slalom races. Prior to 1995, the World Cup speed events in North America were usually held in the latter part of the racing season. This course has hosted total of 65 men's World Cup events ( eighth all-time), and an additional three speed events in March 1988 were on "Centennial", the former speed course at Beaver Creek. Marie-Michèle Gagnon
Marie-Michèle Gagnon (born 25 April 1989) is a World Cup alpine ski racer from Canada. Born in Lévis, Quebec, she was a technical skier focused on slalom. However, since an injury at the start of 2017 season, she no longer competes in slalom and rarely in giant slalom, focusing on speed disciplines and combined. Career Gagnon joined the Canadian national team at the age of eighteen, although a leg fracture halted her progress at the start of her rookie season. Sara Maria Hector (born 4 September 1992) is a Swedish World Cup alpine ski racer. She has competed at six World Championships and won three medals in the team event, respectively in 2011, 2015 and 2021. Anna Swenn-Larsson (born 18 June 1991) is a Swedish World Cup alpine ski racer who specialises in slalom. She made her World Cup debut in a slalom at Courchevel in December 2010 and placed 26th; her first podium came on home snow at Åre in March 2014. Swenn-Larsson competed for Sweden in two Winter Olympics and four World Championships. She won a silver medal in slalom at the 2019 World Championships in Åre, and was fifth in slalom at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang. Paula Moltzan (born April 7, 1994) is an American World Cup alpine ski racer and specializes in slalom. Biography Born to Robyn and Mark Moltzan and from Minnesota, Moltzan began racing at Buck Hill, south of Minneapolis. She competed at the World Championships in 2015 at Beaver Creek, finishing twentieth in the slalom. A month later she won gold in the slalom at the Junior World Championships at Hafjell, Norway. Moltzan raced collegiately for the University of Vermont in Burlington and won the NCAA title in slalom in 2017 at Cannon Mountain, New Hampshire. She rejoined the World Cup circuit for the 2018–19 season and finished eighteenth in slalom at the World Championships in 2019. Maria Helena Pietilä-Holmner (born 25 July 1986) is a retired Swedish World Cup alpine ski racer. She specialised in the technical events of slalom and giant slalom. Born in Umeå, Pietilä-Holmner took up alpine skiing at the age of seven. She was also a keen footballer, playing as a forward for Mariehem's girls' teams until the age of 15, when she decided to focus on skiing.
