Ezra Poyas

	Ezra Poyas Ezra Poyas (born 24 March 1981) is an Australian rules footballer who played in the Australian Football League (AFL) and is a former captain of Victorian Football League (VFL) club Sandringham. Poyas is a former captain of the Victoria Metropolitan side at both Under 18 & Under 16 age groups, and is Jewish. Career Poyas captained Vic Metro at both Under-18 and Under-16 age level, and was also selected as an Under-18 All-Australian and in the TAC Cup Team of the Year in 1999. He was drafted by Richmond at Pick 22 in the 1999 National Draft from the Sandringham Dragons, and went on to play nine games as a forward from 2000–2002, however a serious shoulder injury saw Poyas delisted by the Tigers at the end of the 2002 season. 	Broadbeach Australian Football Club Broadbeach Australian Football Club, also known as the ''Broadbeach Cats'', is an Australian rules football club representing the suburb of Broadbeach on the Gold Coast. 	Brett Backwell Brett William Backwell (born 18 May 1980) is a former Australian rules football player who achieved some international notoriety in 2005 when he had a finger amputated to enable him to continue his chosen sport. Backwell played for in the Australian Football League (AFL) from 1999 to 2001, and won the J. J. Liston Trophy in 2001 and the Magarey Medal in 2006. AFL career Backwell played his junior football in Queensland. He was drafted to the elite AFL competition at number 67 selection in the 1998 AFL Draft. His father Owen was a winner of the QAFL's Grogan Medal in 1971 and 1975. Backwell debuted in the opening Round of the 1999 season.
