George Eyston
Captain George Edward Thomas Eyston MC OBE (28 June 1897 – 11 June 1979) was a British engineer, inventor, and racing driver best known for breaking the land speed record three times between 1937 and 1939. Early life George Eyston was educated at Stonyhurst College and Trinity College, Cambridge. His study of engineering at Cambridge was interrupted by World War I when he was commissioned in the Dorset Regiment and later served in the Royal Field Artillery. After the war he returned to Trinity College and was captain of the First Trinity Boat Club. Career Motor racing Eyston's racing career began before World War One, when he was still a schoolboy, and raced motorcycles under an assumed name. After the war (in which he was awarded the Military Cross) he reverted to his own name, moved on to car racing and entered European road races, particularly in Bugattis, with success in races such as the 1921 and 1926 French Grand Prix Later he became well known for racing supercharg ...

Bernard Eyston
Bernard Eyston, D.D. (1628–1709), was an English Franciscan friar, called in religion Bernard à Sancto Francisco. Eyston was a younger son of William Eyston, esq., of East Hendred in Berkshire (now Oxfordshire), by Mary, daughter of James Thatcher, esq., of Priesthawes, in the parish of Westham in East Sussex. He was the cousin of Anthony Stapley, the regicide. He became lector of divinity at St. Bonaventure's Convent, Douay, where he died on 28 May 1709. Charles Eyston
Charles Eyston (22 September 1667 – 5 November 1721) was an English antiquary. As a scholar he became a friend of Thomas Hearne, who wrote of him: "He was a Roman Catholick and so charitable to the poor that he is lamented by all who knew anything of him . ... He was a man of a sweet temper and was an excellent scholar and so modest that he did not care to have it at any time mentioned." (''Reliq. Hearnianae'').
