Bardonecchia
Bardonecchia (; french: Bardonèche or ; pms, Bardonecia ; oc, Bardonescha ) is an Italian town and ''comune'' located in the Metropolitan City of Turin, in the Piedmont region, in the western part of Susa Valley. It grew out of a small village with the works for the Frejus Rail Tunnel, the first crossing the Alps. The town hosted the snowboarding events of the 2006 Winter Olympics. Geography The town, which is located about from Turin at the intersection of four valleys, is surrounded by mountains, including several whose peaks surpass . Livigno (; local lmo, Livígn ; german: Luwin) is a town, ''comune'' and a special-administered territory in the province of Sondrio, in the region of Lombardy, Italy, located in the Italian Alps, near the Swiss border. History Livigno's first settlers were probably shepherds during the Middle Ages. The first documents called this area . Trepalle
Trepalle is a village (the highest in Italy) in the Italian Alps, a ''frazione'' of Livigno, Lombardy. It is sometimes considered to be the village located at the highest altitude in Europe with its church located at an altitude of 2,069 m, and the village stretching up to the Passo d'Eira at 2,209 m. However, Kurush in southern Dagestan in Russia is situated much higher at 2480–2560 m in the northern Caucasus Mountains. Trepalle is located above Livigno between the Foscagno Pass and the Eira Pass. The northern part of the village, by the Eira Pass, is one of the main skiing areas of Livigno.
