Extreme Euro Open
The Extreme Euro Open is an IPSC level 3 shooting competition held annually in June at the Hodonice shooting range near the town Znojmo in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic. The match is organized by the company Extreme Gun Group, Ltd. and the Extreme Squad shooting club. The match is divided into a Pre and Main Match, where the Pre Match is for the Range Officers later working at the Main Match as well as representatives of the match sponsors. The Main Match lasts three days (Thursday, Friday and Saturday), and is divided into morning and afternoon shifts. On Sunday, the best shooters from the Main Match vie for the Shoot-Off, which was changed to the Super Six format in 2015. Then the six best shooters from the Main Match in each division and some categories compete in an elimination round across three stages. The match is finished with an award ceremony. International Practical Shooting Confederation
The International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) is the world's largest shooting sport association, and the largest and oldest within practical shooting. Founded in 1976, the IPSC nowadays affiliates over 100 regions from Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Oceania. Competitions are held with pistol, revolver, rifle, and shotgun, and the competitors are divided into different divisions based on firearm and equipment features. While everyone in a division competes in the Overall category, there are also separate awards for the categories Lady (female competitors), Super Junior (under 16 years), Junior (under 21 years), Senior (over 50 years), and Super Senior (over 60 years). Safety Area
A safety area is a term from the shooting sports describing a bay with a safe direction where shooters can handle unloaded firearms without the supervision of a Range Officer (RO). Safety areas are widely used in dynamic shooting sport disciplines (e.g. IPSC and PPC 1500), and may for example be used to pack, unpack or holster a gun, cleaning or repair, dry firing and training with empty magazines. The handling of ammunition is expressly prohibited within the safety area, including any dummy rounds. Outside the safety area ammunition can be handled freely to load magazines, but firearms may only be handled under the direct supervision of a Range Officer. Gun Chronograph
A ballistic chronograph or gun chronograph is a measuring instrument used to measure the velocity of a projectile in flight, typically fired from a gun. History Benjamin Robins (1707–1751) invented the ballistic pendulum that measures the momentum of the projectile fired by a gun. Dividing the momentum by the projectile mass gives the velocity. Robbins published his results as ''New Principles of Gunnery'' in 1742. The ballistic pendulum could make only one measurement per firing because the device catches the projectile. The gun's accuracy also limited how far down range a measurement could be made. Alessandro Vittorio Papacino d'Antoni published results in 1765 using a wheel chronometer. Gravel Pit
A gravel pit is an open-pit mine for the extraction of gravel. Gravel pits often lie in river valleys where the water table is high, so they may naturally fill with water to form ponds or lakes. Old, abandoned gravel pits are normally used either as nature reserves, or as amenity areas for water sports, landfills and walking. In Germany former gravel or sand pits that have filled up with water are known as ''Baggersee'' ("power dug lake") and popular for recreational use. In addition, many gravel pits in the United Kingdom have been stocked with freshwater fish such as the common carp to create coarse fishing locations. Jethro Dionisio (born January 24, 1972 in Manila, National Capital Region) is a shooter from the Philippines. Nicknamed ''The Jet'', he represented the country in the 2004 Summer Olympics. He is also a famous practical shooter, having won the country's nationals several times starting at the age of 16. At 18, he competed, and won the U.S. Steel Challenge World Speed Shooting Competition (1990). He would go on and win two more times, 1992-1993. Maxient John Jr. Michel (born 15 December 1981) is an action shooting competitor from the US. He became IPSC Handgun World Champion in the Open division in 2014. He is also the only seven-time winner of the Steel Challenge World Speed Shooting Championships and the only competitor to win it 4 times in a row (2005, 2007, 2009, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016). Max began shooting when he was just 5 years old, and has served in the U.S. Army for 10 years (1999 - 2009) as a shooter and trainer. Eduardo De Cobos
Eduardo De Cobos (born 20. August 1974) is a Spanish sport shooter and firearms instructor who took bronze in the Production division at the 2017 IPSC Handgun World Shoot in Châteauroux, France. He also has two gold and one bronze medal from the IPSC European Handgun Championships. Eduardo started shooting as a weekend activity with his father between 1990 and 1992. He had his breakthrough in 1997 taking his first IPSC Spanish Handgun Championship title, and today has over 15 Spanish Handgun titles.
