Extremadura UD B
Extremadura Unión Deportiva "B" is the reserve team of Extremadura UD, a Spanish football club based in Almendralejo, in the autonomous community of Extremadura. Founded in 1986 as ''Atlético San José Promesas'' it last played in Tercera División RFEF - Group 14, holding home games at ''Estadio Tomás de la Hera'', with a 3,000-seat capacity. History Founded in 1986, San José Promesas only started to have a senior team in 2004. On 21 June 2016, the club was integrated into the structure of Extremadura UD and became its reserve team. With the aim to respect its history, the club would be named also as ''Extremadura-San José'' and will continue wearing its classic mauve kit. In the following season, the reserve team was renamed to Extremadura B. In March 2022, Extremadura B was expelled from the Tercera División RFEF after two consecutive no-shows. Almendralejo
Almendralejo () is a town in the Province of Badajoz, Extremadura, Spain. It is situated 45 km south-east of Badajoz, on the main road and rail route between Mérida and Seville. , it has a population of 33,975. It was the site of a battle and massacre in 1936 during the Spanish Civil War. Historical overview The beautiful large silver Missorium of Theodosius I, one of the best surviving examples of Late Antique Imperial imagery, was found here indicating that an important late ancient Roman site must be in the vicinity. The "Albero de ferria" at Almendralejo, constructed in 1747, was one of the earliest examples of a large scale hydropower dam. It was long and high. It was a rubble-masonry structure and had several buttresses to strengthen it. Some of these were roofed over to house a mill and it was the first dam to contain a water wheel actually within its structure. The 2021–22 Tercera División RFEF season will be the first for the national fifth level in the Spanish football league system. The league has 18 groups like the former fourth tier Tercera División. 2020–21 Tercera División
The 2020–21 Tercera División was the last for this league as the fourth tier of Spanish football. It began in October 2020 and ended in June 2021 with the second phase and promotion play-off final in the Canarian group. Because the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) suspended the previous season on 11 March 2020 at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in Spain, the RFEF announced on 6 May the termination of that season, the revocation of all relegations from the Segunda División B, Segunda B and Tercera divisions, and the expansion of both leagues.
