Extol Members
Extol are a Christian metal band from Bekkestua, Norway that was formed in 1993. The band is known for playing a variety of different styles of metal which include progressive metal, death metal, black metal and thrash metal. Over the course of their career, the band has released five studio albums and two EPs. The band are noted for their precise, technical musicianship. The fourth album, ''The Blueprint Dives'', received a Spellemannsprisen nomination for Best Metal Album of 2005. Extol has toured the United States and Europe several times with such bands as Mastodon, God Forbid and Opeth. Collectively, Extol has sold over 500,000 albums worldwide. The last line-up before the hiatus included vocalist Peter Espevoll, guitarists Tor Magne Glidje and Ole Halvard Sveen, drummer David Husvik, and bass player John Robert Mjåland. Bekkestua
Bekkestua is a town in the municipality of Bærum, Norway, with a busy bus terminal and a station on one of Oslo's westbound T-bane lines, Kolsåsbanen. It also has its own library, police station and fire station. It has grown to be the second largest centre of the municipality after Sandvika, with small restaurants and shopping centres. Nadderud stadion (stadium), the home ground of the Stabæk Fotball association football club is at walking distance from Bekkestua. The Blueprint Dives
''The Blueprint Dives'' is the fourth studio release by the Norwegian Christian metal band Extol. Recorded at the end of 2004 at Top Room Studios and produced by Børge Finstad and Extol, ''Blueprint'' was released on 21 February 2005 on Century Media. The album met with a widely positive reception and received a Spellemannprisen nomination. On this album, Ole Børud and Christer Espevoll left Extol, and the band was joined by the members of the rock band Ganglión, Tor Magne S. Glidje and Ole Halvard Sveen. Steve Rowe (born 19 January 1965) is the founder, bass guitarist, and vocalist of the Australian Christian death metal band Mortification which was considered to be a major pioneer in the genre. Prior to forming Mortification he was in a traditional heavy metal styled Christian band known as LightForce. He was diagnosed with leukemia in 1997, but made a full recovery. He is currently the owner and head of the Rowe Productions record label. In 2015, Rowe announced his retirement from Christian music. However, his career has continued, while Mortification has been inactive the members' side project, Wonrowe Vision, have remained active. Mortification (band)
Mortification is an Australian Christian metal band which was formed in 1987 as a heavy metal group, Lightforce, by mainstay Steve Rowe on bass guitar and vocals. By 1990, in the Melbourne suburb of Moorabbin, they were renamed as Mortification with the line-up of Rowe, Michael Carlisle on guitar, and Jayson Sherlock on drums. Mortification has released fourteen studio albums, three compilation albums, three extended plays, six live discs, one demo album, one box set, and several videos on major record labels such as Nuclear Blast. Fleshkiller
Fleshkiller is a death metal band from Norway and Indiana, United States. History Fleshkiller started in 2015 in Norway as a side project of Ole Børud of the progressive metal band, Extol and Peter Dalbakk of the band Vardøger. Børud and Dalbakk were former bandmates of the band Schaliach, a death-doom band they formed together. The two hired drummer Andreas Skorpe Sjøen from the band Umpfel. The band added Ole Vistnes as the band's bass player, of the bands Shining and Tristania. Dalbakk would later quit the band due to spending more time with his family. The band would replace Dalbakk with Elisha Mullins, vocalist of The Burial and former guitarist of A Hill to Die Upon. ''Extol'' is the fifth full-length studio album by the Norwegian Christian metal, Christian progressive death metal band Extol, released in 2013. It was described by music critics as a mixture of Death metal, death and progressive metal, with some melodic elements. Reviews of the album were very positive, and the album managed to chart on the ''Billboard (magazine), Billboard'' Top Christian Albums chart. Background and release In 2007, Extol went on hiatus after releasing its 2005 fourth album, ''The Blueprint Dives'', then reformed as a trio in 2012 and announced that it had begun work on a new studio album. Schaliach
Schaliach was a Christian metal band formed by Peter Dalbakk and Ole Børud from Hamar, Norway. Dalbakk served as the band's vocalist, while Børud handled all the instrumentation. The band released one studio album, '' Sonrise'', in 1996 through Petroleum Records. Three songs from that recording were then featured on the Rowe Productions compilation album ''Northern Lights: Norwegian Metal Compilation'', which was also released in 1996. The band also contributed the song "Purple Filter" to the compilation album ''In the Shadow of Death: A Scandinavian Extreme Music Compilation'', released in 2000 through Endtime Productions. Opeth
Opeth is a Swedish progressive metal/rock band from Stockholm, formed in 1990 by lead vocalist David Isberg. The group has been through several personnel changes, including the replacement of every original member; notably Isberg in 1992. Mikael Åkerfeldt has been Opeth's frontman and primary songwriter since Isberg's departure.
