Exo Bus Services
Bus services are provided throughout the Greater Montreal region of Canada under the Exo brand. History Prior to June 2017, bus service within the greater region of Montréal was provided by a number of different local and regional transit agencies known as ''Conseils Intermunicipal de Transport'' (CIT), or Inter-municipal transit commissions. In addition, a few suburban towns also ran their own transit services. All of these CITs and local agencies were, however, integrated logistically and collected fares under the umbrella of the former ''Agence métropolitaine de transport'' (AMT), a provincial agency created in 1997 to manage and integrate road transport and public transportation in Greater Montreal, as well as operate commuter rail for the region. Greater Montreal
Greater Montreal (french: Grand Montréal) is the most populous metropolitan area in Quebec and the second most populous in Canada after Greater Toronto. In 2015, Statistics Canada identified Montreal's Census Metropolitan Area (CMA) as with a population of 4,027,100, almost half that of the province. A smaller area of is governed by the Montreal Metropolitan Community (MMC) (french: Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal, CMM). This level of government is headed by a president (currently Montreal mayor Valérie Plante). The inner ring is composed of densely populated municipalities located in close proximity to Downtown Montreal. Sainte-Julie Public Transit
Exo (public transit) Sainte-Julie sector is the public transportation service for the small city of Sainte-Julie in southwestern Quebec, Canada. This municipality is located in the Marguerite-D'Youville Regional County Municipality, about , southeast of downtown Montreal. The system provides a mix of regular transit bus and commuter express services, with most routes terminating either at Longueuil bus station or in downtown Montreal in front of 800, rue De La Gauchetière Ouest, across the street from Gare Centrale and near Terminus Centre-Ville. Agence métropolitaine de transport park and ride facilities for commuters, are located at 211 boulevard Armand-Frappier. Industrial and rural areas of Sainte-Julie are served by taxibus. The Marguerite-D'Youville Regional County Municipality manages the transportation for people with disabilities within the Region. Terminus Centre-Ville
Terminus Centre-Ville is a bus terminus located within 1000 de La Gauchetière in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is multimodal with the Bonaventure Metro station and Lucien-L'Allier Metro station on the Orange Line, and the Central Station in the city's downtown core. The terminus has 21 gates in three areas. Terminus Mansfield is an overflow facility built directly next to the site. North platform The north platform has twelve gates (1–12) and is used exclusively by rush-hour-only RTL buses. It is open during morning and evening rush hour (Monday to Friday 05:15 to 09:30 and 15:00 to 19:00). Brossard-Chevrier Park and Ride is an Exo public transit (Exo) bus terminal with an incentive parking lot located in Brossard, Quebec, Canada. It is served by bus 90 of the Réseau de transport de Longueuil (RTL) and is located at 4700 rue Lapinière in the C section of Brossard at the crossing of rue Lapinière and the CN railway tracks. It connects to Autoroute 10 nearby via a reserved bus lane accessed through a tunnel A tunnel is an underground passageway, dug through surrounding soil, earth or rock, and enclosed except for the entrance and exit, commonly at each end. Exo De La Vallée Du Richelieu Sector
The de la Vallée du Richelieu sector, is a public transit agency serving eight member municipalities and the Richelieu Valley RCM in Quebec, Canada. These towns, located east Montreal along Quebec Route 116, receive both local service and commuter runs to Exo (public transit) stations that serve Montreal. The communities served are: Beloeil, McMasterville, Mont-Saint-Hilaire, Otterburn Park, Saint-Basile-le-Grand, Saint-Hyacinthe, Sainte-Madeleine, Sainte-Marie-Madeleine. Exo Sud-Ouest sector is the bus service that operates bus routes from Montreal to Kahnawake, Châteauguay, Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Saint-Zotique and Les Coteaux on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River in Quebec, Canada. Exo Sorel-Varennes Sector
The CIT Sorel-Varennes (CITSV), formally the ''Conseil Intermunicipal de Transport Sorel-Varennes'', provides public transportation to the municipalities in the area northeast from Montreal along the right bank of the Saint Lawrence River in Quebec, Canada. The communities served by CITSV stretch downstream along Quebec Highway 132, from Varennes through Saint-Amable, Verchères, Contrecoeur, Saint-Roch-de-Richelieu to Tracy, Saint-Joseph-de-Sorel and Sorel. Exo Roussillon Sector
The Exo (public transit) Roussillon sector, provides transportation services for residents in the towns of Delson, Sainte-Catherine, and Saint-Constant in Quebec, Canada. These are suburbs of Montreal located on the south shore of the Saint Lawrence River in the Regional County Municipality of Roussillon. During the week there are 7 local bus routes with 3 park and ride express routes running to the Terminus Brossard-Panama, the Terminus Centre-Ville as well as to the Angrignon and the Jolicoeur metro stations from the Georges-Gagné parking facility. The local buses also connect to three AMT stations on the Candiac line, for commuter train service into the city. On the weekend only one local route and one of the express routes into Montreal are in operation. Exo Le Richelain Sector
The Exo (public transit) Le Richelain sector is the public transportation system for the municipalities of La Prairie, Candiac and Saint-Philippe, which are suburbs lying southeast of Montreal in Quebec, Canada. Originally the communities around Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu were included but the town now has its own public transit system which serves that area. The sector will merge with the Exo Roussillon sector when the Réseau express métropolitain opens on July 31, 2023. Commuter service to Montreal is the major function of the sector, either directly to Terminus Centre-Ville via a reserved bus lane on the Champlain Bridge or services to Terminus Longueuil with a connection to the metro towards downtown Montreal. In 2018, exo awarded Transdev the contract to run service for the sector. Exo Du Haut-Saint-Laurent Sector
The Exo du Haut-Saint-Laurent sector provides a bus service, operated under the auspices of Le Haut-Saint-Laurent Regional County Municipality, in southwestern Quebec, Canada. The CITHSL serves the communities, within the region, of Godmanchester, Howick, Huntingdon, Ormstown, Très-Saint-Sacrement and also Sainte-Martine, in the adjoining Region of Beauharnois-Salaberry, and Mercier in Roussillon Region. Fixed route bus service While demand response service is available in all of the above communities, CIT also operates one fixed commuter service. The line operates seven days a week, with reduced frequency on weekends. The route starts at Huntingdon and runs along Highway 138 to Montreal; it terminates at either Angrignon station on the Montreal Metro or continues to downtown near the Terminus Centre-Ville bus station.
