Exit Calm
Exit Calm were an English indie rock band, formed in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, England, in late 2006. The band was composed of singer Nicky Smith, guitarist Rob Marshall, bassist Simon Lindley and drummer Scott Pemberton. The band name was inspired by a book called "Silent Rebels" read by Lindley and the band Lunatic Calm. History In late 2006, Hull born singer-songwriter Nicky Smith responded to an advertisement in Jumbo Records, Leeds, for a band called Blind Shore who were looking for a frontman. Blind Shore were Rob Marshall, Simon Lindley and Scott Pemberton formerly of Barnsley band Lyca Sleep, who had released a couple of singles via a small independent label. Barnsley () is a market town in South Yorkshire, England. As the main settlement of the Metropolitan Borough of Barnsley and the fourth largest settlement in South Yorkshire. In Barnsley, the population was 96,888 while the wider Borough has seen an increase of 5.8%, from 231,200 in 2011 census to 244,600 in 2021 census. Ron Sexsmith
Ronald Eldon Sexsmith (born January 8, 1964) is a Canadian singer-songwriter from St. Catharines, Ontario. He was the songwriter of the year at the 2005 Juno Awards. He began releasing recordings of his own material in 1985 at age 21, and has since recorded seventeen albums. He was the subject of a 2010 documentary called '' Love Shines''. Early life Sexsmith grew up in St. Catharines and started his own band when he was 14 years old. Career Sexsmith was seventeen when he started playing at a bar, the Lion's Tavern, in his hometown. Thee Hypnotics are an English psychedelic garage rock band, formed in 1985 in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, England. The band are currently composed of frontman James "Jim" Jones, guitarist Ray Hanson, drummer Phil Smith and bassist Jeremy Cottingham. The band split in 1999, before announcing their reformation in January 2018. The band recorded three studio and one live album for record labels including Sub Pop, Beggars Banquet/Situation Two, RCA Records, American Records. The Jim Jones Revue were an English band composed of Jim Jones, Rupert Orton,Nick Jones, Gavin Jay, Elliott Mortimer (later replaced by Henri Herbert) with garage and rock and roll influences. History The band was formed after Jim Jones met Rupert Orton (Beth Orton's brother) at his ''Not The Same Old Blues Crap'' club night in London. In 2008, the band recorded their self-titled debut album in just 48 hours, in a rehearsal space in Camden Town, London. The album was released on 8 September 2008 via Punk Rock Blues Records. Jim Jones
James Warren Jones (May 13, 1931 – November 18, 1978) was an American preacher, political activist and mass murderer. He led the Peoples Temple, a new religious movement, between 1955 and 1978. In what he called "revolutionary suicide", Jones and the members of his inner circle orchestrated a mass murder–suicide in his remote jungle commune at Jonestown, Guyana, on November 18, 1978. Jones and the events which occurred at Jonestown have had a defining influence on society's perception of cults. As a child, Jones developed an affinity for Pentecostalism and a desire to preach. Depeche Mode are an English electronic music band formed in Basildon, Essex, in 1980.
