Excalibur (L. Ron Hubbard)
''Excalibur'' (alternate titles: ''Dark Sword'', ''The One Command'') is an unpublished manuscript written in 1938 by L. Ron Hubbard, later the founder of Scientology. The contents of ''Excalibur'' formed the basis for '' Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health'' (1950) and some of Hubbard's later publications.Hubbard, "The Anatomy Of Thought". "Coventry" is a science fiction short story by American writer Robert A. Heinlein, part of his Future History series. It was first published in the July 1940 issue of ''Astounding Science Fiction'', and later collected into the book '' Revolt in 2100'' in 1953. The title is inspired by the British idiom " to send someone to Coventry". In 2017, the story won the Prometheus Hall of Fame award. Plot summary In a future American society, everyone must accept the Covenant of non-violence, and psychologists can "cure" criminal or violent personality traits. Gerry Armstrong (activist)
Gerald "Gerry" Armstrong is a former member of the Church of Scientology. In 1980, the Church assigned Armstrong, then a member of the Church's elite Sea Org, to organize some personal papers of L. Ron Hubbard that were to serve as the basis of a new biography of Hubbard. A non-Scientologist, Omar Garrison, had been hired to write the book. As part of his assignment, Armstrong also requested Hubbard's war records from the Navy and his transcripts from George Washington University. Lawsuit Armstrong's transfer of the Hubbard-related documents to his attorney prompted a lawsuit, '' Church of Scientology of California vs. Gerald Armstrong.'' Scientology
Scientology is a set of beliefs and practices invented by American author L. Ron Hubbard, and an associated movement. It has been variously defined as a cult, a business, or a new religious movement. The most recent published census data indicate that there were about 25,000 followers in the United States (in 2008); around 1,800 followers in England (2021); 1,400 in Canada (2021); and about 1,600 in Australia (2016). Hubbard initially developed a set of ideas that he called Dianetics, which he represented as a form of therapy. This he promoted through various publications, as well as through the Hubbard Dianetic Research Foundation that he established in 1950. Arroyo Seco Parkway
The Arroyo Seco Parkway, also known as the Pasadena Freeway, is one of the oldest freeways built in the United States. It connects Los Angeles with Pasadena alongside the Arroyo Seco seasonal river.
