Ewert Ljusberg
Karl Ewert Alvar Ljusberg (7 May 1945 – 1 October 2021) was a Swedish troubadour, ballad singer, entertainer, and the fictitious Republic of Jamtland's president from 1989 until his death. He lived in Hällekis. Career During his career as a professional artist from 1971 he collaborated with many prominent ballad singers, for example Sid Jansson, Cornelis Vreeswijk, and Billey Shamrock. He also acted in the National Swedish Touring Theatre's ''Joe Hill'' and in the musical '' Jesus Christ Superstar.'' He created several records throughout the years, from ''Goknul'' 1972 to ''Tack för kaffet'' 2003. Ljusberg also created records with Bengt Sändh, Iggesundsgänget, and his brother Arne Ljusberg. Most of his fame among the TV-audience came from his part as the storyteller in ''Har du hört den förut?'' (1983–1996) together with Margareta Kjellberg. Republic Of Jamtland
The United Republics of Jamtland, Herjeådalen and Ravund (often shortened to the Republic of Jamtland) is a humorous culture and marketing project or micronation, with regionalist and historical elements based in the Swedish County of Jämtland, located in the middle of Scandinavia. From the 10th to 12th century Jamtland was self-governing and was independent of any crown, hence the name "Republic of Jamtland". It was annexed in 1178 to the crown of Norway. It still exercised significant self-rule, and its primary connection to the Norwegian king was through paying royal taxes. The Orkney Islands were the only other area that enjoyed similar self-rule. ''Norrländsk uppslagsbok'' (shortened NU) is a Swedish scholarly encyclopedia on the land Norrland in northern Sweden. The encyclopedia was issued in the years 1993–1996, at first by the publishing house Bra Böcker (''Good Books'') according to its model, the Nationalencyklopedin, and with Kari Marklund as chief editor. Production of the encyclopedia was made in cooperation with Umeå University. As of the second volume, the publishing was taken over by Norrlands Universitetsförlag and Lars-Erik Edlund became editor-in-chief. Ulf Peder Olrog
Ulf Peder Olrog (27 February 1919 – 13 February 1972) was a Swedish folklorist, lecturer, composer, songwriter, and radio personality. He was born in Stockholm to Thorvald Olrog and Hervor Jeanna Amalia Andrén. He studied at the University of Uppsala, and later (1952–1959) lectured in folkloristic at this university. He was assigned with Sveriges Radio from 1964, from 1971 as program director of the entertainment department. Olrog became a recognized composer and lyricist of numerous songs in Swedish. His songs also appeared in several feature films in the 1950s and 60s. References
