Evolver (film)
''Evolver'' is a 1995 American direct-to-video horror/science fiction film directed by Mark Rosman. It starred Ethan Embry, Cassidy Rae, Cindy Pickett, and John de Lancie. William H. Macy voiced (uncredited) Evolver . Plot Teenage computer whiz Kyle Baxter ( Ethan Randall) participates in a virtual reality version of laser tag and is about to win a nationwide tournament, only to be disrupted by another player, a girl named Jamie. Despite his loss, he hacks into the company's system to make himself the winner of the prize: "Evolver" (voiced by William H. Macy), a robotic opponent armed with a compressed air gun, to compete against in a real-world version of laser tag. Whenever Evolver is defeated, he "evolves", becomes smarter, quicker and harder to beat (to simulate rising game difficulty). Mark Rosman
Mark Rosman (born August 15, 1957) is an American film director, film producer, television director and screenwriter. Background Rosman is the son of a Beverly Hills dermatologist. He has a brother, a lawyer, and a sister. After graduating from Beverly Hills High School, Rosman went to UCLA but left after two years when he wasn't accepted into the film program there. Rosman was accepted into New York University's film program, where he graduated. Career During his senior year at NYU, he worked as a voluntary assistant director on Brian De Palma's '' Home Movies''. Rosman launched his career with ''The House on Sorority Row''. Rosman was originally hired to direct the 1984 horror film ''Mutant'', but was replaced by John Cardos early in the production after the studio objected to the way he was shooting the film. Michael Edward Campbell Champion (born November 3, 1946 in Anderson, Indiana – died June 16, 2021) was an American singer, songwriter and musician who started his public career in Detroit. In 1967, with a short-lived band called 'The Abstract Reality', he released a 45 rpm single called ''Love Burns Like A Fire Inside''. Jack Kenny (born March 9, 1958) is an American writer, director, actor, and producer. Early life and education Kenny was born in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Sally (from Guantanamo, Cuba), a mother and housewife, and Jack, Jr. (from Chicago, IL), a business manager for IBM. He grew up in Poughkeepsie, NY and in Raleigh, NC.
