Evil (2003 Film)
''Evil'' ( sv, Ondskan) is a 2003 Swedish drama film which was released to cinemas in Sweden on 26 September 2003, directed by Mikael Håfström, based on Jan Guillou's semi-autobiographical novel of the same name from 1981, and starring Andreas Wilson, Henrik Lundström and Gustaf Skarsgård. The film is set in a private boarding school in the late-1950s with institutional violence as its theme. The film was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 76th Academy Awards. It won three Swedish Guldbagge Awards including Best Film. Plot In 1958, Erik Ponti, a 15-year-old boy, lives with his mother and sadistic stepfather in Stockholm. At home, his stepfather beats him every day after dinner. Björn Gösta Tryggve Granath (5 April 1946 – 5 February 2017) was a Swedish actor who appeared in over 100 films and television shows. Granath was born in Örgryte, Gothenburg, Sweden. He starred in a broad range of roles from comedic to dramatic. He was active as an actor and director at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm between the years 1987–2007. Prior to his passing he was set to play Buckingham in a production of Richard III at the Royal Dramatic Theatre. It was a revival of a popular production he had appeared in during 2014. Kjell Bertil Leonard Bergqvist (born 23 February 1953 in Enskede, Stockholm County) is a Swedish actor. Bergqvist finished the Royal Dramatic Training Academy in 1973 and made his debut in '' En enkel melodi'' and ''Jack''. He has since cooperated for many years with scriptwriter and director Ulf Malmros. During the 1990s he has recorded several police films playing Martin Beck's colleague Lennart Kollberg. He played two different characters in the Swedish horror television series Chock in 1997. He is the son of director Ingmar Bergman and Ellen Lundström, twin brother of actress Anna Bergman, and a half-brother of Swedish-Norwegian author Linn Ullmann.
