Everything Must Go (song)
"Everything Must Go" is a song by Welsh alternative rock band Manic Street Preachers, released as the second single from their fourth studio album, '' Everything Must Go'' (1996), on 22 July 1996. The song reached number five on the UK Singles Chart. Background The song is cited by Wire as a message to the fans, saying that the music had changed after the loss of Richey Edwards, but the band is still the same. Ushering in a new era for the band, Wire's lyrics asks fans to forgive them for changing: "and I just hope that you can forgive us, but everything must go". James Dean Bradfield has said that Sean Moore had a lot of freedom in the drums for his song. Unlike on several previous Manic Street Preachers singles, the drums are not "compressed", they are more open and free, giving a sense of disorder in the song. The song features a prominent string section that commentators such as '' Q'' magazine's Tom Doyle have compared to the songs of Phil Spector and his Wall of Sound. Re ...

It was released on June 10, 2003, by Reprise Records, and was the band's second album following their 20-year studio hiatus spanning 1980 through 2000, when they released ''Two Against Nature''. ''Everything Must Go'' is the band's most recent studio album and their last with founding member Walter Becker before his death in 2017. Background "Godwhacker" developed from a blasphemous lyric Fagen wrote a few days after his mother died of Alzheimer's. "It's about an elite squad of assassins whose sole assignment is to find a way into heaven and take out God", he later explained. "If the deity actually existed, what sane person wouldn't consider this to be justifiable homicide?" Reviews ''Everything Must Go'' received mixed reviews upon release. During a concert at Los Angeles' Greek Theatre on July 8, 2011, Donald Fagen said that he felt the album was "underrated". Releases ''Everything Must Go'' ...

The Estate Sale
''The'' () is a grammatical article in English, denoting persons or things that are already or about to be mentioned, under discussion, implied or otherwise presumed familiar to listeners, readers, or speakers. It is the definite article in English. ''The'' is the most frequently used word in the English language; studies and analyses of texts have found it to account for seven percent of all printed English-language words. It is derived from gendered articles in Old English which combined in Middle English and now has a single form used with nouns of any gender. The word can be used with both singular and plural nouns, and with a noun that starts with any letter. This is different from many other languages, which have different forms of the definite article for different genders or numbers. Pronunciation In most dialects, "the" is pronounced as (with the voiced dental fricative followed by a schwa) when followed by a consonant sound, and as (homophone of the archaic pr ...
