Everything's Alright (The Mojos Song)
"Everything's Alright" is a song written and performed by the Mojos. It was released as a single in 1964, peaking at No. 9 in the UK Singles Chart. Unusually for the time, both sides of the record were written by the band. "Everything's Alright" is credited to all five members of the band (Nicky Crouch, Bob Konrad, Stu James, Keith Karlson and "Simon Stavely", a pseudonym for keyboardist Terence O'Toole). Only Karlson, James and Stavely are listed as writers of the b-side, "Give Your Lovin' To Me". An EP titled ''The Mojos'', with "Everything's Alright" as the opening track, was released later in the year, backed with versions of American rhythm and blues tracks " I Got My Mojo Working" (a hit for Muddy Waters), "The One Who Really Loves You" (Mary Wells) and " Nobody But Me" (the Isley Brothers). The band performed the song in the 1965 film Every Day's a Holiday. David Bowie recorded a version of "Everything's Alright" for his ''Pin Ups'' album in 1973, which featured Aynsle ...

Pin Ups
''Pin Ups'' (also referred to as ''Pinups'' and ''Pin-Ups'') is the seventh studio album by English musician David Bowie, released on 19October 1973 through RCA Records. Devised as a "stop-gap" album to appease his record label, it is a covers album, featuring songs by British bands from the 1960s that were influential to Bowie as a teenager, including the Pretty Things, the Who, the Yardbirds and Pink Floyd. The tracks mostly stay true to their original counterparts, albeit performed in glam rock and proto-punk styles. The album was recorded from July to August 1973 at the Château d'Hérouville in Hérouville, France following the completion of the Ziggy Stardust Tour. It was co-produced by Bowie and Ken Scott, marking the final collaboration between the two. Two members of Bowie's backing band the Spiders from Mars contributed, guitarist Mick Ronson and bassist Trevor Bolder, while Mick Woodmansey was replaced by Aynsley Dunbar on drums. "Nobody but Me" is a song written by O'Kelly, Rudolph, and Ronald Isley of The Isley Brothers and first recorded by The Isley Brothers in 1962. The most commercially successful and widely known version to date is the 1968 US Top 10 hit by The Human Beinz, which was their only chart success. Beat Music
Beat music, British beat, or Merseybeat is a British popular music genre that developed, particularly in and around Liverpool, in the late 1950s and early 1960s. The genre melded influences from American rock and roll, rhythm and blues, skiffle, traditional pop and music hall. It rose to mainstream popularity in the UK and Europe by 1963 before spreading to the North America in 1964 with the British Invasion. The beat style had a significant impact on popular music and youth culture, from 1960s movements such as garage rock, folk rock and psychedelic music to 1970s punk rock and 1990s Britpop. Origin The exact origins of the terms 'beat music' and 'Merseybeat' are uncertain. The "beat" in each, however, derived from the driving rhythms which the bands had adopted from their rock and roll, R&B and soul music influences, rather than the Beat Generation literary movement of the 1950s. As the initial wave of rock and roll subsided in the later 1950s, "big beat" music, later sh ...

Mary Esther Wells (May 13, 1943 – July 26, 1992) was an American singer, who helped to define the emerging sound of Motown in the early 1960s. Along with The Supremes, The Miracles, The Temptations, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, and the Four Tops, Wells was said to have been part of the charge in black music onto radio stations and record shelves of mainstream America, "bridging the color lines in music at the time." With a string of hit singles composed mainly by Smokey Robinson, including "The One Who Really Loves You (song), The One Who Really Loves You", "Two Lovers (Mary Wells song), Two Lovers", and the Grammy Award, Grammy-nominated "You Beat Me to the Punch", all in 1962, plus her signature hit, "My Guy" (1964), she became recognized as "The Queen of Motown" until her departure from the company in 1964, at the height of her success. The One Who Really Loves You (song)
"The One Who Really Loves You" is a single recorded by Mary Wells on the Motown label in 1962. It was written and composed by Smokey Robinson of The Miracles and peaked at number eight on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart and number two on the ''Billboard'' R&B chart. The song, written by Smokey Robinson, talks about a woman who's telling her boyfriend not to fall for other girls, because they don't want him, and their love isn't true, but hers is, so she's telling him that he "better wake up" before they "break up". The single was the first of a trio of Top Ten hits with Robinson in the year (followed by "You Beat Me to the Punch" and "Two Lovers"). It featured vibraphone production and brought out a softer sound in Wells' voice that hadn't been shown in her earlier releases. The single was the highest-charting single of her career at the time. Jessica Sanchez sampled the song for her song "Still in Love". Personnel *Lead vocal by Mary Wells *Background vocals by The Love Ton ...
