"Everyday Formula" is a song by Australian rock band Regurgitator. The song was released in October 1997 as the lead single from the band's second studio album '' Unit''. The single peaked at number 41 in Australia and it also ranked at number 19 on Triple J's Hottest 100 in 1997. In 2019, Tyler Jenke from The Brag ranked Regurgitator's best songs, with "Everyday Formula" coming it at number 4. Jenke said "Like most songs by the Gurge, the exceptional, catchy music hides some lyrics underneath that usually go missed by casual fans of the band. In this case, 'Everyday Formula' sees the group describing environmental issues being overlooked due to the rise of technology. Truly, they were ahead of their time." Regurgitator are an Australian rock band from Brisbane, Queensland, formed in late 1993 by Quan Yeomans on lead vocals, guitar and keyboards; Ben Ely on bass guitar, keyboards and vocals; and Martin Lee on drums. Their debut studio album, ''Tu-Plang'' was released in May 1996; it was followed by ''Unit'' in November 1997 which was certified triple platinum. Warner Music Australia Pty Limited (WMA) is the Australian division of the Warner Music Group. WMA also distributes in New Zealand. History In 1969, Warner Bros. Records branched out and WEA was born. The first country in which it was established was Canada, with the second being Australia. ''Unit'' is the second studio album by Australian rock band Regurgitator, released in November 1997. Its style is a mixture of 1980s style synthesised pop music and alternative rock, with some hip hop influences. The album debuted and peaked at number 4 on the ARIA Charts. At the ARIA Music Awards of 1998, the album won five ARIA Music Awards; including ARIA Award for Album of the Year. In October 1998, the album was re-released as ''Unit Re-Booted'', which included the album's five music videos. The album was re-issued on vinyl by Valve in October 2013. Prior to recording Regurgitator had just completed their eleventh extensive Australian tour (with The Fauves and Tomorrow People), when they planned to start recording a follow-up to their first album, ''Tu-Plang''. Triple J (stylised in all lowercase) is a government-funded, national Australian Radio in Australia, radio station intended to appeal to listeners of alternative music, which began broadcasting in January 1975. The 1997 Triple J Hottest 100, was a countdown of the most popular songs of the year, according to listeners of the Australian radio station Triple J, and was broadcast on Australia Day 1998. A CD featuring 31 of the songs was released. A countdown of the videos of most of the songs was also shown on the ABC music series '' Rage''. The most popular song was announced by former Prime Minister Gough Whitlam, the namesake of the winning group.
