Everett High School (Michigan)
Everett High School is a public high school located on the south side of Lansing, Michigan. Athletics Everett's sports teams are known as the Vikings, known for their rivalry with the Big Reds of JW Sexton High School, and were Class A State Champions in Boys Basketball in 1977 and 2004. Lansing () is the capital of the U.S. state of Michigan. It is mostly in Ingham County, although portions of the city extend west into Eaton County and north into Clinton County. Bruce Look
Bruce Michael Look (born June 9, 1943) is an American former professional baseball player and catcher who appeared in 59 games played in Major League Baseball as a member of the Minnesota Twins. The native of Lansing, Michigan, threw right-handed, batted left-handed and was listed as tall and . He is the younger brother of Dean Look, who played for the Chicago White Sox in 1961, and also played professional football and was a longtime on-field official in the National Football League. Like his brother, Bruce Look played football and baseball for Michigan State University before serving in the United States Army. He then signed his first pro baseball contract. Alexa Canady
Dr. Alexa Irene Canady (born November 5, 1950) is a retired American medical doctor specializing in pediatric neurosurgery. She was born in Lansing, Michigan and earned both her bachelors and medical degree from the University of Michigan. After completing her residency at the University of Minnesota in 1981, she became the first black woman to become a neurosurgeon. This came after Ruth Kerr Jakoby became the first American woman to be board certified in neurosurgery in 1961. Canady specialized in pediatric neurosurgery and was the chief of neurosurgery at the Children's Hospital in Michigan from 1987 until her partial retirement in 2001. In addition to surgery, she also conducted research and was a professor of neurosurgery at Wayne State University. Carol Sue Hutchins (born May 26, 1957) is an American former softball coach. In 38 years as the head coach of Michigan Wolverines softball, (1985–2022), she won more games than more than any other coach in University of Michigan history in any sport, male or female with 1,684 wins. Hutchins had a career record of 1,707 wins, 551 losses, and five ties, for a winning percentage. She led the Wolverines to their first NCAA softball championship in 2005. Carl Thomas (born October 3, 1969) is American former professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is currently an assistant coach at Duquesne University. Though born in Dayton, Ohio, Thomas moved to Lansing, Michigan where he played basketball at Everett High School. He went on to college at Eastern Michigan University, where he also played basketball. Thomas began his NBA career with the Sacramento Kings in 1991–92, playing one game, playing 31 minutes, scoring 12 points. Goran Suton (born 11 August 1985) is a Bosnian-Croat former professional basketball player who last played for Movistar Estudiantes of the Liga ACB. He played college basketball with the Michigan State Spartans.
