Evelyn Stevens (cyclist)
Evelyn Lee Stevens (born May 9, 1983) is an American retired professional road bicycle racing, road cyclist. Early life Stevens was born in Claremont, California but grew up in Acton, Massachusetts, where she attended Acton-Boxborough Regional High School. She studied government and women and gender studies at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire and was a member of the college's tennis team. After graduating in 2005 she moved to New York City where she worked for Lehman Brothers for two years, then for mezzanine fund Gleacher Mezzanine before quitting in July 2009 to take up cycling full-time. Career She competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the Cycling at the 2012 Summer Olympics – Women's road race, women's road race, finishing 24th. La Flèche Wallonne Féminine
La Flèche Wallonne Féminine is a professional women's bicycle road race held each year in Wallonia, Belgium, in April. It is part of the UCI Women's World Tour, cycling's season-long competition of top-tier races, in which it is the third-oldest single-day event after the Trofeo Alfredo Binda in Italy and the Emakumeen Euskal Bira in the Basque Country. The event is raced on the same day as La Flèche Wallonne for men. The race was inaugurated by Tour de France organizers ASO in 1998 and quickly became a road race classic. From 1999 onwards, the women's Flèche Wallonne was a UCI Women's Road Cycling World Cup event. In 2016, the race became part of the new UCI Women's World Tour. 2014 UCI Road World Championships – Women's Time Trial
The Women's time trial of the 2014 UCI Road World Championships took place in and around Ponferrada, Spain on 23 September 2014. The course of the race is with the start and finish in Ponferrada. Ellen van Dijk was the defending champion, after winning her first world time trial title in 2013. Germany's Lisa Brennauer won the world title, becoming the third German rider to do so after Judith Arndt and Hanka Kupfernagel. Brennauer was victorious by 18.68 seconds over the Ukraine's Hanna Solovey, with Evelyn Stevens a further 2.57 seconds behind in the bronze medal position for the United States. Van Dijk, the defending champion, could do no better than seventh place in the final standings, over a minute in arrears of Brennauer. The 2016 UCI Road World Championships took place in Doha, Qatar, in October 2016. The championships was moved from the traditional September to October to avoid extreme hot and blustery weather.
