Evangelina Mascardi
Maria Evangelina Mascardi is an Argentinian lutenist, guitarist, and theorbist, known for her concert performances. She is currently a university professor residing in Orte, and teaches Lute at the Conservatorio Antonio Vivaldi in Alessandria, Italy. Life Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1977, into an Italian family originating in Liguria she graduated in classical guitar and started her concert career there. She studied music at the ''National Music Academy Juan Pedro Esnaola'' with Silvia Fernandez and Gabriel Schebor, where she graduated as a state-certified music teacher. She moved to Europe in 1997 and decided to study lute at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis- Swiss Music Academy in Basel, Switzerland. Figured bass is musical notation in which numerals and symbols appear above or below (or next to) a bass note. The numerals and symbols (often accidentals) indicate intervals, chords, and non-chord tones that a musician playing piano, harpsichord, organ, or lute (or other instruments capable of playing chords) should play in relation to the bass note. Sir Simon Denis Rattle (born 19 January 1955) is a British-German conductor. He rose to international prominence during the 1980s and 1990s, while music director of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (1980–1998). Giovanni Antonini
Giovanni Antonini (born 1965) is an Italian conductor and soloist on the recorder and baroque transverse flute. He studied in his native Milan, and attended the Civica Scuola di Musica in that city and the Centre de Musique Ancienne in Geneva. In 1985, along with Luca Pianca, he co-founded Il Giardino Armonico, a pioneering Italian early music ensemble based in Milan. Jordi Savall i Bernadet (; born 1 August 1941) is a Spanish conductor, composer and viol player. He has been one of the major figures in the field of Western early music since the 1970s, largely responsible for popularizing the viol family of instruments (notably the viola da gamba) in contemporary performance and recording. Hopkinson Smith
Hopkinson Smith (born December 7, 1946) is an American lutenist and pedagogue, longtime resident in Basel, Switzerland. Smith was born in New York City, the son of architectural writer and photographer G. E. Kidder Smith. He graduated from Harvard University with Honors in Music (Thesis on ''"The Pavans of Daniel Bacheler"''). He moved to Europe in 1973 to study lute and vihuela with the renowned Catalan classical guitarist Emilio Pujol, as well as Eugen Mueller-Dombois. In the mid-1970s, Hopkinson Smith was involved in the founding of the ensemble Hespèrion XX, which led to his ten-year collaboration with Jordi Savall.
