European Vibe Magazine
''European Vibe'' was a popular free monthly magazine published in Madrid. It where the first full colour English language magazine published in Madrid and it was first published in September 2006. The magazine closed in January 2011. The magazine contained music, film, sports, travel, Spanish culture and Madrid-focused sections alongside a Spanish-language learning section for the international community in Madrid. Buena Vista Social Club
Buena Vista Social Club is an ensemble of Cuban musicians established in 1996. The project was organized by World Circuit executive Nick Gold, produced by American guitarist Ry Cooder and directed by Juan de Marcos González. They named the group after the homonymous members' club in the Buenavista quarter of Havana, a popular music venue in the 1940s. To showcase the popular styles of the time, such as son, bolero and danzón, they recruited a dozen veteran musicians, some of whom had been retired for many years. The group's eponymous album was recorded in March 1996 and released in September 1997, quickly becoming an international success, which prompted the ensemble to perform with a full line-up in Amsterdam and New York in 1998. Dru Hill
Dru Hill is an American R&B group, whose repertoire included soul, hip hop soul and gospel music. The group was founded in Baltimore in 1992 and is still active. Dru Hill recorded seven Top 40 hits, and is best known for the R&B number-one hits " In My Bed", "Never Make a Promise" and " How Deep Is Your Love". Its original members were lead singer Mark "Sisqó" Andrews, Tamir "Nokio" Ruffin, Larry "Jazz" Anthony and James "Woody" Green. The group achieved popularity in the 1990s. The Sounds
The Sounds are a Swedish indie rock band. Formed in Helsingborg in 1998, the group's musical style has been compared to new wave acts such as Blondie, The Cars, the Epoxies and Missing Persons. Sten Hallström, also known by his stage name StoneBridge, is a Swedish DJ and record producer. He received international acclaim with the remix of the 1993 hit " Show Me Love" with Robin S. and his remix for " Closer" by Ne-Yo which received a 2008 Grammy nomination. The Dandy Warhols
The Dandy Warhols are an American alternative rock band, formed in Portland, Oregon, in 1994 by singer-guitarist Courtney Taylor-Taylor and guitarist Peter Holmström. They were later joined by keyboardist Zia McCabe and drummer Eric Hedford. Hedford left in 1998 and was replaced by Taylor-Taylor's cousin Brent DeBoer. The band's name is a play on the name of American pop artist Andy Warhol. Zia McCabe (born Aimee Springer; June 2, 1975) is an American musician and realtor. She plays keyboards, percussion and bass guitar, and is a member of American alternative rock band The Dandy Warhols. She is also a solo DJ, and part of a six-piece country music band called Brush Prairie. She graduated from Battle Ground High School in Battle Ground, Washington in 1993. Guillemots (stylized as gUiLLeMoTs) were a British indie rock band formed in November 2004. The band consisted of three members: Fyfe Dangerfield, Aristazabal Hawkes, and Greig Stewart.
