European Gymnastics is one of five continental unions that represents the interests of Europe in the International Gymnastics Federation (french: Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique or ''FIG''). TeamGym
TeamGym is a form of competition created by the European Union of Gymnastics. The first official competition was held in Finland in 1996. Originally named EuroTeam, TeamGym received its current name in 2002. From 1996 to 2008, the European Championships was an event for clubs; since 2010 the competition is contested with national teams representing different countries. TeamGym events consist of three sections: women, men and mixed teams. Gymnasts perform skills in three different disciplines: floor, tumbling and trampette. In common for the performance is effective teamwork, good technique in the elements and spectacular acrobatic skills. Events Floor All members of the Team take part in the floor program, composed of a mixture of dance, flexibility and skill. The routine has to be skillfully choreographed and the judges look out for changes in shape. Gymnastics at the European Games refers to instances where events in the field of gymnastics were held as part of the European Games. These include: * Gymnastics at the 2015 European Games. Gymnastics competitions at the 2015 European Games were held in the National Gymnastics Arena, Baku between 15–20 June 2015. In all, five different disciplines were contested. 2020 European Women's Artistic Gymnastics Championships
The 33rd European Women's Artistic Gymnastics Championships were held from 17 to 20 December 2020 in Mersin, Turkey. The competition was originally scheduled to be held from 30 April to 3 May 2020 in Paris, France, but it was rescheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Baku, Azerbaijan was announced as the replacement host for 17 to 20 December, before the event was relocated to Mersin. Originally an Olympic qualifying event, the competition was undesignated as such in light of the ongoing pandemic, so as to avoid pressuring member federations to attend if they were not willing to do so. Only 15 nations opted to send athletes, as the majority of countries withdrew out of concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic in Europe. European Gymnastics barred the Polish Gymnastics Federation from sending any athletes due to outstanding financial obligations resulting from their hosting the 2019 edition of the event. European Team Gymnastics Championships
The European Team Gymnastics Championships, initially held as the European Gymnastics Masters, was a competition organized by the European Union of Gymnastics combining men's and women's artistic gymnastics and rhythmic gymnastics events. History The competition was first held in 1997 under the name ''European Gymnastics Masters'' in Paris, France. A second edition of the tournament, still as European Gymnastics Masters, was held in 1999 in Patras, Greece. In 2001 the competition was renamed to ''European Team Gymnastics Championships''. Aerobic Gymnastics
Aerobic gymnastics or sport aerobics is a competitive sport originating from traditional aerobics in which complex, high-intensity movement patterns and elements of varying difficulty are performed to music. Nature of the game The performance area is square for juniors or square for adults and for aero dance and step. In International competition there are 9 different events: Individual Women, Individual Men, Mixed Pairs, Trios, Group (five athletes), Step Dance (both eight athletes) and trapezium pass. The last four are regardless of the genders of the athletes. The performances are made up of four groups of elements. The routine must be performed entirely to music.
