European Friends Of Israel
European Friends of Israel (EFI) was a Brussels-based organization of European Parliament, European parliamentarians whose stated mission is "forging a stronger political relationship and a deeper understanding between Europe and Israel." History Established in September 2006 by 300 Member of the European Parliament, MEPs and national Member of Parliament, MPs, European Friends of Israel aimed to bring together every national parliamentary friendship group with Israel from the EU 27 Member States, together with the friendship group with Israel within the European Parliament. EFI monitored all legislation that impacts Israel and supported many initiatives to help Israel exist within safe and secure borders. Its chairman was Marek Siwiec. Influence EFI mustered 1,000 participants from all over Europe, the largest support group of its kind in the region, attracting more than 1,500 European parliamentarians and policymakers. Northern Ireland Friends of Israel is a group dedicated to fostering better relations between Northern Ireland and the State of Israel. The group was launched by the deputy ambassador of Israel, Talya Lador-Fresher, president of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, Henry Grunwald and former First Minister Ian Paisley on 12 March 2009 in Belfast at the Great Hall, Stormont. European Parliament
The European Parliament (EP) is one of the legislative bodies of the European Union and one of its seven institutions.
