Euroboys
Euroboys is a Norwegian band. They were formed in 1990 under the name Kåre and the Cavemen, but changed their name to Euroboys in 1997 for releases outside of Norway. In 2000 they changed their name to Euroboys for all releases including inside Norway. Beginnings Kåre and the Cavemen originally came from a smalltown north of Oslo called Harestua, and started out as a Beastie Boys inspired hip hop/punk band with founding members Kåre João Erik Pedersen (bass, vocals), Knut Schreiner (guitar) and Werner Holm (drums). They soon concentrated on punk rock, as Dag Gravem relieved Pedersen of his bass duties. In the fall of 1990, the group's musical orientation changed permanently to '50s and '60s instrumental garage rock heavily influenced by Link Wray, as Holm left and Pedersen took over the drums. Knut Schreiner
Knut Schreiner (born 18 December 1974 in Bergen, Norway), is a Norwegian singer, musician and producer currently residing in Oslo. Also known by his stage name Euroboy, he has been part of important Norwegian bands like Kåre and The Cavemen known in its last years as Euroboys, with Turbonegro known in Norway as Turboneger, in the musical project Black Diamond Brigade and recently is a member of Mirror Lakes. He has also been in other musical projects and produced other bands, notably Euroboys, Amulet and The Lovethugs. As Euroboy Knut Schreiner himself took the stage name Euroboy at the time and was widely known by that moniker. As Euroboy, Schreiner usually appeared on stage in an all black attire, sporting a Schutz-Staffel Totenkopf officer's hat. His style of playing was strongly influenced by James Williamson of the Stooges from 1971 to 1974. He was also influenced by Ace Frehley of KISS and Angus Young of AC/DC. Turbonegro
Turbonegro (Turboneger in Norway) is a Norwegian rock band, active from 1989 to 1998 and from 2002 to the present. The band combines glam rock, punk rock, and hard rock into a self-described "deathpunk" musical style. History Early years (1989–1994) Turbonegro formed in Oslo during the winter of 1988–1989. The initial lineup consisted of Thomas Seltzer (a.k.a. Happy-Tom), Vegard Heskestad, Pål Bøttger Kjærnes, Rune Grønn, Pål Erik Carlin and Tor-Kristian "TK" Jenssen. Seltzer and Heskestad had formerly performed in a band called "De Dype" – a noisy and subversive ensemble inspired by American rock band Butthole Surfers. Quart Festival
The Quart Festival was an annual popular music festival that took place in Kristiansand, Norway in the beginning of July, from 1991 to 2008. It was the most visited music festival in Norway. It was first named ''Qvadradurmusivalen'' in 1991, but changed into the more ear-catching Quart Festival the following year. For several years Quart was the largest music festival in Norway, but went bankrupt in 2008 in part due to tough competition from the Hovefestivalen in Arendal and some Oslo-based festivals. Harestua is a town in Lunner kommune, Viken county, Norway. It has 2318 inhabitants. Harestua is located 46 kilometeres north of Oslo, and functions as a commuter town to the capital. Richard Anthony Monsour (May 4, 1937 – March 16, 2019), known professionally as Dick Dale, was an American rock guitarist. He was a pioneer of surf music, drawing on Middle Eastern music scale (music), scales and experimenting with reverb effect, reverb. Dale was known as "The King of the Surf Guitar", which was also the title of King of the Surf Guitar, his second studio album. Dale was one of the most influential guitarists of all time and especially of the early 1960s. Scarborough Fair (ballad)
"Scarborough Fair" ( Child 2, Roud 12) is a traditional English ballad. The song, which is a variant of The Elfin Knight, lists a number of impossible tasks given to a former lover who lives in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. The "Scarborough/Whittingham Fair" variant was most common in Yorkshire and Northumbria, where it was sung to various melodies, often using Dorian mode, with refrains resembling "parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme" and "Then she'll be a true love of mine." It appears in Traditional Tunes by Frank Kidson published in 1891, who claims to have collected it from Whitby. Republished in 1999: The famous melody was collected from Mark Anderson (1874–1953), a retired lead miner from Middleton-in-Teesdale, County Durham, England, by Ewan MacColl in 1947. Steven Van Zandt (né Lento; born November 22, 1950), also known as Little Steven or Miami Steve, is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and actor. He is a member of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band, in which he plays guitar and mandolin. He has appeared in several television drama series, including as Silvio Dante in ''The Sopranos'' (1999–2007) and as Frank Tagliano in ''Lilyhammer'' (2012–2014). Hank Von Helvete
Hans-Erik Dyvik Husby (15 June 1972 – 19 November 2021), also known as Hank von Helvete and Hank von Hell, was a Norwegian singer best known as the lead vocalist of the rock band Turbonegro. Career Von Hell's former band Turbonegro is most well known for their tongue-in-cheek humor dealing with homosexual aesthetics and punk rock antics, and the formation of a genre they label "death punk". The band formed in the late 1980s and put out a few records before disbanding in 1998 when von Hell's heroin addiction made him unable to perform. After going through rehab, Turbonegro reunited in 2002, but the band went on an indefinite hiatus in 2010. The main reason for this was his new lifestyle as a sober family man. In 2009, he had a joint No. 1 hit alongside Maria Solheim in the Norwegian Singles Chart with "Rom for alle". The song stayed at No. 1 for three weeks including the Christmas chart for 2009. NRK2 (NRK To) is one of the TV channels of the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK). It was launched on 1 September 1996. History The channel started its regular broadcasts on 1 September 1996, but the evening before, a live simulcast, led by Trond-Viggo Torgersen, was broadcast on both NRK1 and NRK2. Sunday 1 September was the first regular broadcast day, and around 880,000 people watched the channel during the first evening. From the start, the channel was to be youth-oriented and had people between the ages of 15 and 35 as its main target group. For the first eleven years, before the channel changed its profile, culture, entertainment and music programs were mainly broadcast.
