EuroLeague MVP Of The Week
The EuroLeague MVP (Most Valuable Player) of the Round, previously known as the EuroLeague MVP of the Week, is an award of Europe's premier level basketball league, the EuroLeague, that is given to the best player of each round of the season. Each game on the EuroLeague's season schedule is considered to be an individual round. In order to win the award, a player must have the highest PIR stat among all players of the round's winning teams. Only one game is taken into account in determining the award, as each individual game on the schedule is counted as one round. The award began with the EuroLeague 2000–01 season. Criteria The award is not voted on by anyone. It is determined by a statistical formula, called either the Performance Index Rating, or the Performance Index Ranking (PIR) by the EuroLeague, and also known as either Evaluation or Valuation, in some European national domestic basketball leagues. Milenko Topić
Milenko Topić (; born 6 March 1969) is a Serbian professional basketball coach and former player. Playing career A power forward, Topić spent most of his professional career playing in the YUBA League, representing Profikolor, BFC Beočin, Crvena zvezda, Budućnost, and Hemofarm. In the later career, he also played in Italy for Montepaschi Siena and Olimpia Milano, as well as in Greece for Rethymno, until his retirement in 2008. National team career Topić was a member of the Yugoslavia national team (representing FR Yugoslavia) that won the silver medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia, US. Over five tournament games, he averaged 2.2 points, 3.6 rebounds and one assist per game. Topić won the gold medal at EuroBasket 1997 in Spain. Alphonso Gene Ford (October 31, 1971 – September 4, 2004) was an American professional basketball player. A 1.92 m (6 ft 3 in) tall, 98 kg (216 lbs.) shooting guard, he was one of the greatest scorers in college basketball history. After a short stint in the NBA, he played professionally in Europe. Ford confirmed his tremendous scoring ability in the EuroLeague, and became a reference in the matter, notwithstanding his chronic health issues. Pallacanestro Treviso, named Benetton Basket due to a long running sponsorship by the Benetton Group and widely referred to as Benetton Treviso, is an Italian youth basketball club based in Treviso, Veneto. The club was previously a successful professional club until 2012 when the Benetton Group decided to withdraw from professional basketball, though they retained the youth section at La Ghirada, the sports complex they own. Marcelo Patricio Nicola Virginio (born May 12, 1971) is an Argentine-Italian former professional basketball player and a current coach. A very versatile power forward, he was a regular member of the Argentine national basketball team, and competed many years in the EuroLeague. Kebu Omar Stewart (born December 19, 1973) is an American retired basketball player. He played in the NBA and had a rich international career, playing in several countries. High school and college career Stewart was a star high school player at national powerhouse Oak Hill Academy and later on at Our Saviour Lutheran in the Bronx, where he averaged nearly 36 points per game and earned honorable mention All American honors in the 1992–92 season. Stewart signed to play at UNLV, but was academically ineligible his freshman year. He redshirted, and played the 1993–94 season with the Runnin' Rebels.
