EuroHockey Club Champions Cup (women)
The EuroHockey Club Champions Cup, previously known as the European Club Championship, was the leading woman's field hockey competition for clubs in Europe. The competition was first contested in 1974, and played out its last edition in 2019. The competition is replaced by the Women's Euro Hockey League. Women's Euro Hockey League
The Women's Euro Hockey League is the newest annual women's field hockey tournament organised by the EHF for the very top hockey clubs in Europe. The competition was supposed to start in 2020 replacing the old EuroHockey Club Cup. The first edition was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Europe. Format The new tournament will have the same format as the old EuroHockey Club Cup. This means eight teams will participate in knockout tournament, with the losers playing classification matches for their ranking. The tournament will be held at the same location as the men's Final 8. For the first time the women's competition will be fully produced for television and there will be a video umpire. Teams will qualify for EHL Women in a similar manner to before with the top two nations on the EHL rankings table earning two places in the competition while the next six nations will receive one entry. H.O.C. Gazellen-Combinatie, also known as HGC, is a Dutch field hockey club located in Wassenaar, South Holland on the border of The Hague. The club was founded on 22 September 1906. The first teams (men and women) competed for many years on the highest level of the Dutch field hockey league, in the "Hoofdklasse". In 1995/'96 both the men's and the women's first team won the national championship. The men's 1st XI also competed in the Euro Hockey League. Pegasus Hockey Club is a women's field hockey club based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The club enter teams in the Women's Irish Hockey League, the Irish Senior Cup, the Irish Junior Cup and the Ulster Shield. Pegasus has also represented Ireland in European competitions. Pegasus was founded in 1961 by students and teachers from the Ulster College of Physical Education, Jordanstown and Stranmillis University College. Spartak (russian: Спартак) is an international fitness and sports society that unites some countries of the former Soviet Union. In the Soviet era, the Spartak sports society was supported by the Komsomol. Since 1991, Spartak has operated under the sponsorship of the food worker's union ("Pischevik"). It was founded in 1921 in Moscow as the "Moscow Sports Circle" (MSK) by footballer Nikolai Starostin and others. In 1926 it came under the sponsorship of the food worker's union ("Pischevik"). Overtime or extra time is an additional period of play specified under the rules of a sport to bring a game to a decision and avoid declaring the match a tie or draw where the scores are the same. In some sports, this extra period is played only if the game is required to have a clear winner, as in single-elimination tournaments where only one team or players can advance to the next round or win the tournament.
