EuroBrun ER188
The EuroBrun ER188 was a Formula One car built and raced by the EuroBrun team for the 1988 Formula One season. The car was designed by Mario Tolentino and was powered by a normally aspirated Cosworth DFZ engine. Three ER188 chassis were produced. Two cars were entered for 1987 Formula 3000 champion Stefano Modena of Italy and long-time Brun sports car stalwart, 33-year-old F1 rookie, Argentine Oscar Larrauri. 1988 Despite a solid, if unspectacular start to the season, EuroBrun were struggling as money ran low. There was internal trouble when in May 1988 Brun unsuccessfully tried to replace Larrauri with German driver Christian Danner. The 1988 Hungarian Grand Prix was a Formula One motor race held on 7 August 1988 at the Hungaroring, Mogyoród, Pest, Hungary. It was the tenth race of the 1988 Formula One World Championship. The 1988 Monaco Grand Prix (formally the 46e Grand Prix de Monaco) was a Formula One motor race held on 15 May 1988 at the Circuit de Monaco, Monte Carlo. Christian Josef Danner (born 4 April 1958) is a former racing driver from Germany. Career Formula Two and Formula 3000 The son of car safety expert Max Danner, Danner started his motor racing career immediately after leaving school in 1977. After having raced in the Renault 5 cup Danner moved to the European Formula Two Championship for the season. During his years in Formula Two Danner was a constant frontrunner. He scored several podiums but failed to win a race. Danner also set the F2 lap record of the current configuration of the old Nürburgring. Danner moved to the Formula 3000 championship in 1985 which replaced the Formula Two championship. With four wins Danner became the inaugural Formula 3000 championship winner. The 1987 International Formula 3000 season was the third season of FIA Formula 3000 motor racing. It featured the 1987 Formula 3000 Intercontinental Championship,FIA Yearbook, 1988, red section, page 97 which was contested over an eleven round series in which 23 different teams, 53 different drivers, 4 different chassis constructors and 3 different engines manufacturers competed.
