''Euphonia'' is the second studio album by Perceptual Outer Dimensions, released on September 19, 1995 by Fifth Colvmn Records. Music Composer Holmes Ives had recorded and released ''The Journey to Planet POD'' on Fifth Colvmn Records compilation. The composition "De La Luna" was released for the Fifth Colvmn compilation ''Forced Cranial Removal''. Reception Sonic Boom described ''Euphonia'' as an album "nothing short of astounding in its complexity and depth" that "creates an acoustic effect produced by musical patterns combined as to please the ear or euphony." Perceptual Outer Dimensions
Perceptual Outer Dimensions was the music project of Washington, D.C.-based composer Holmes Ives. Under the moniker Ives released two albums for Fifth Colvmn Records, 1994's ''The Journey to Planet POD'' and 1995's '' Euphonia''. History Perceptual Outer Dimensions was founded in 1994 out of Virginia as a solo outlet for composer Holmes Ives. He recorded the compositions "Hinge" and "Lurid Dance of the Erimite" and released them on the 1994 Fifth Colvmn Records compilation '' Frenzied Computer Resonance''. Still opting to release with Fifth Colvmn, Ives debuted a full-length studio album titled ''The Journey to Planet POD'' for the label in 1995. Perceptual Outer Dimensions released its second studio album for Fifth Colvmn in 1995 titled '' Euphonia''. Zalman Fishman
Fifth Colvmn Records was a record label based in Washington, DC. The label was founded in 1990 by Zalman Fishman, owner of the nightclub FIFTH COLVMN, located in Washington D.C. The label's first release was Chemlab's debut EP Ten Ton Pressure. Jared Hendrickson of Chemlab also became the general manager for the label. Chemlab later played several dates with Nine Inch Nails, eventually attracting a distribution deal for their next release, Burn Out at the Hydrogen Bar, with Metal Blade Records. The band Thud was the next artist to join the label. Heavy, loud and unrelenting, Thud became very popular amongst Metal fans and critics alike luring Eli Janney from Girls Against Boys to contribute to their debut record Life & Death and earning co-headling performances with Stone Temple Pilots. Schwann Catalog
The ''Schwann Catalog'' (previously ''Schwann Long Playing Record Catalog'' or later ''Schwann Record And Tape Guide'') was a catalog of recordings started by William Schwann in 1949. The first edition was hand-typed and 26 pages long, and it listed 674 long-playing records (see LP record). By the late 1970s, over 150,000 record albums had been listed in Schwann. The company was honored by the record industry both at the 25th anniversary (1974) and 35th anniversary (1984). The Schwann Catalog changed hands several times, sold in 1976, then again in the late 1980s to Stereophile, then to Valley Media in the 1990s.
