Eunos MRT Station
Eunos MRT station is an above-ground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on the East West MRT Line in Geylang, Singapore. It is located next to the Eunos Bus Interchange. The station was named in honour of an early Malay pioneer, Muhammad Eunos bin Abdullah, who secured 700-hectares of land for Malay settlements in the area called Jalan Eunos Malay Settlement (Kampung Melayu). Design The station has a different style of architecture from other stations on the eastern part of the East West Line, having been designed with a traditional Malay roof structure ( Atap Minangkabau) and with a shape similar to the stations in the western part of the East-West Line ( Chinese Garden to Boon Lay stations), and the northern part of the North South Line ( Bukit Batok to Khatib stations) except for Woodlands, using modern materials such as steel beams, similar to that of the Eunos Bus Interchange. Boon Lay MRT Station
Boon Lay MRT station is an above-ground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on the East West line in Jurong West, Singapore. Located in Jurong West Central, Boon Lay station is one of the three stations that serve Jurong West New Town; the other two are Lakeside MRT station and Pioneer MRT station. Together with Boon Lay Bus Interchange and Jurong Point Shopping Mall, they form the Boon Lay Integrated Public Transport Hub. The station was the western terminus of the East West line prior to the opening of Joo Koon MRT station in 2009. Queenstown MRT Station
Queenstown MRT station is an above-ground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on the East West line in Queenstown, Singapore. It is built on a traffic island along Commonwealth Avenue. The station is named after Queen Elizabeth II to mark her coronation in 1952. History The station was opened on 12 March 1988, as part of the extension of the MRT system from Outram Park to Clementi. Half-height platform screen doors were installed in January 2011 and started operations on 28 April 2011 together with Commonwealth. The station was expanded starting mid-2012 and was opened on 23 August 2015 with a new overhead bridge and two new exits, the same day as Commonwealth MRT station. High-volume Low-speed Fan
A high-volume low-speed (HVLS) fan is a type of mechanical fan greater than in diameter. HVLS fans are generally ceiling fans although some are pole mounted. HVLS fans move slowly and distribute large amounts of air at low rotational speed– hence the name "high volume, low speed." Woodlands MRT Station
Woodlands MRT station is a Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) interchange station on the North South (NSL) and Thomson–East Coast (TEL) lines in Singapore. Located in Woodlands, the MRT station was the first to feature an underground bus interchange underneath the NSL station. The station is also integrated with surrounding developments, including Causeway Point and the Woodlands Civic Centre. The NSL station was first announced in November 1991 as part of the Woodlands MRT extension. Chinese Garden MRT Station
Chinese Garden MRT station is an above-ground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on the East West line in Jurong East, Singapore. It primarily serves the residential estate of Yuhua, as well as the various tourist attractions in Jurong Lake, including the Chinese Garden, where the station derived its name from. The roof of Chinese Garden station is based on traditional Chinese architectural design. History The station was opened on 5 November 1988, as part of the first portion of Phase 2 of the MRT system. Eunos Bus Interchange
Eunos Bus Interchange is a bus interchange located in Geylang East, Singapore. It is located and built beside Eunos MRT station and is surrounded by Eunos Road 2, Eunos Crescent and Sims Avenue. The interchange is designed with traditional Malay roof structure and shape, but using modern materials such as steel beams, similar to that of the Eunos MRT station. It gives a sense of identity to the area as the bus interchange lies close to Geylang and also to honour Eunos Abdullah whom secured 700-hectares of land for the Malay settlements in the early 1900s.
